Ahmed Ghigani made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Benamar Naït Mazi sent off a good shot on target. 8 minutes into the game, Abdelkrim Aliche cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ahmed Ghigani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With his leg Ahmed Ghigani managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Algeria's Benamar Naït Mazi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Benamar Naït Mazi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Algeria's supporters rose to their feet, but Benamar Naït Mazi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ahmed Ghigani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benamar Naït Mazi got free with Ahmed Ghigani in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute of the match Algeria got a corner. Tunisia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Faouzi Benzine ran over to the corner to take the kick. Faouzi Benzine made a great header on Algeria's corner, it was just that Tunisia's Ahmed Ghigani managed to reach the ball for a save. 22 minutes into the match, Algeria's goal looked a bit too open when Ali Ben Aïssa came free, but Kylian Fadela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benamar Naït Mazi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Ahmed Ghigani made a huge save. If Adel Gharbi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kylian Fadela showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khaled Karoui in the 27th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes Tunisia got a freekick which was hit by Fathi Amor. Ahmed Ghigani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abdelkrim Aliche in the 32nd minute of play. Kylian Fadela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fethi Karoui in the 33rd minute of play. Algeria's Cheikh Mazi managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fatah Abdallah in the 35 minute of the game. With a little luck, Tunisia's Ahmed Ghigani got control of the ball when Benamar Naït Mazi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benamar Naït Mazi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Ahmed Ghigani made a huge save. Kylian Fadela showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fethi Karoui, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. When Benamar Naït Mazi came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Algeria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benamar Naït Mazi couldn't finish the play. Khaled Karoui took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kylian Fadela. Kylian Fadela dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benamar Naït Mazi to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Houd Saïdani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Algeria's zone, Adel Gharbi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kylian Fadela came out of the goal and Adel Gharbi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ahmed Ghigani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benamar Naït Mazi went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Khaled Karoui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kylian Fadela having to interfere. A collision led to Tunisia getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fethi Karoui hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benamar Naït Mazi in the 63rd minute of play forced Tunisia's goalkeeper Ahmed Ghigani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kylian Fadela took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ali Ben Aïssa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benamar Naït Mazi kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Ahmed Ghigani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benamar Naït Mazi in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ali Ben Aïssa in the 76th minute of play forced Algeria's goalkeeper Kylian Fadela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Benamar Naït Mazi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ahmed Ghigani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Ali Ben Aïssa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tunisia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ali Ben Aïssa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Tunisia getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Fatah Abdallah hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Benamar Naït Mazi made a precise shot to the right of Ahmed Ghigani. Tunisia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The Algeria support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
