Agostinho Zubeldia was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Argenis Abeitia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 10 minute of play. Agostinho Zubeldia made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Argenis Abeitia sent off a good shot on target. In the 15th minute of the match, Argenis Abeitia got a very nice opportunity to score, but Agostinho Zubeldia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Huly Abendano came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Cilio Gambo. But to his dismay, Cilio Gambo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Agostinho Zubeldia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lehoi Abeita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 29th minute, Cilio Gambo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bolivia's Huly Abendano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cilio Gambo in the 32nd minute of play. Agostinho Zubeldia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lehoi Abeita in the 35th minute of play. Paulo Abar who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 35thth minute tested the skills of Agostinho Zubeldia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Agostinho Zubeldia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lehoi Abeita, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goal looked a bit too open when Oliver Ramon came free, but Huly Abendano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 41 minutes Bolivia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Su Alvaro who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Su Alvaro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Huly Abendano quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

When Argenis Abeitia came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Argenis Abeitia couldn't finish the play. Huly Abendano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cilio Gambo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Nestor Fauria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Huly Abendano was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Alvaro Tariego could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Huly Abendano made a huge save. Nestor Fauria's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Huly Abendano firmly grabbed it by the left post. Peru's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
