Spectators: 15921 (Terracing: 10000, Seating: 5448, VIP seats: 473) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dave Lawrence took the kick off in the first half of the match. Dave Jaggernauth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 4th minute of play. Dave Jaggernauth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Loc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Loc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dave Jaggernauth. U21 Trinidad & Tobago's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nguyễn Loc was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. U21 Vietnam's Nguyễn Hieu Ngan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save U21 Vietnam from getting a goal against them. The supporters of U21 Trinidad & Tobago booed when U21 Vietnam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trần Bay didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nguyễn Loc blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dave Jaggernauth having to make a save. In the 22nd minute Nguyễn Loc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Jaggernauth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dave Jaggernauth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Loc in the 23rd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Loc in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dave Jaggernauth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dave Lawrence, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Dave Jaggernauth didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ngô Quang went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ngô Quang in the 33rd minute of play forced U21 Trinidad & Tobago's goalkeeper Dave Jaggernauth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ngô Quang took the ball and in the 33 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dave Jaggernauth. Dave Jaggernauth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. A collision led to U21 Vietnam getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Nguyễn Loc hit a great ball. After 39 played minutes U21 Vietnam got a freekick which was hit by Trần Cong Vinh. After having played for 43 minutes, Nguyễn Loc managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Vietnam's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nguyễn Loc was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joel Hodge charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Hodge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After taking down the ball on U21 Vietnam's corner Trần Bay fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dave Jaggernauth quite easily take care of the ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Nguyễn Loc made the kick off in the second half. Dave Jaggernauth stood somewhat misplaced when Nguyễn Loc came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 50 minute. After 53 played minutes U21 Trinidad & Tobago got a freekick which was hit by Bill Partap. After recieving a nice pass, U21 Vietnam's Trần Bay tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Nguyễn Loc's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 59thth minute, Dave Jaggernauth skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nguyễn Loc in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dave Jaggernauth, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ngô Quang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dave Jaggernauth read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. U21 Vietnam's Trần Viet was substituted for Ngô Quang. In the 68th minute, U21 Vietnam's Nguyễn Loc ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dave Jaggernauth. Dave Jaggernauth yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Krishna Webber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 75th minute, Mohamed Salah ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. A throw-in in the 79th minute of the game was made by Krishna Webber with Bill Partap as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. With his leg Dave Jaggernauth managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when U21 Vietnam's Nguyễn Loc fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Loc got free with Dave Jaggernauth in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trần Bay made a great header on U21 Vietnam's corner, it was just that U21 Trinidad & Tobago's Dave Jaggernauth managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clayton Najjar in the 86th minute of play forced U21 Vietnam's goalkeeper Nguyễn Hieu Ngan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Loc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, U21 Vietnam was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Trần Cong Vinh to maneuver through the defense.
