Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vicente Jauregui stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Oxel Urquijo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walter Bonacker in the 56th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Argentina's goalkeeper Jairo Txilar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arturo Noya. But to his dismay, Leonel Orlandus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 64th minute, Leonel Orlandus made a precise shot to the right of Oxel Urquijo. Spain's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Argentina made a substitution. Antonio Kiliz replaced Ildefonso Gurutz.
