Waldir de Andrade didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hélio Manarov came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leif Bolstad could save by the left post. In the 13th match minute, U21 Norway was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gene Kelly to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, U21 Norway's Leif Bolstad got control of the ball when Hélio Manarov tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 Norway's Leif Bolstad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save U21 Norway from getting a goal against them. Hélio Manarov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leif Bolstad came out and tried to block the shot, but Hélio Manarov slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 22nd minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in U21 Brazil fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! U21 Brazil:s Bat Man showed great skill when he stopped Torstein Ljosland:s penalty. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jørgen Justad in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bat Man prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Leif Bolstad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélio Manarov in the 32nd minute. 35 minutes into the match, U21 Brazil's Hélio Manarov sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leif Bolstad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Hélio Manarov might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leif Bolstad. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélio Manarov ran back to his position shaking his head. 40 minutes into the match, U21 Norway's goalkeeper Leif Bolstad had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélio Manarov. After a rather tough play, U21 Brazil's Ronaldinho Soares got a free kick in the 40th minute. Bat Man showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remi Øiseth, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After having played for 44 minutes, Hélio Manarov managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Brazil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Manarov was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélio Manarov was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, U21 Norway's goal looked a bit too open when Hélio Manarov came free, but Leif Bolstad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. U21 Brazil's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pedro Galvão in the 52nd minute. The corner led to U21 Brazil's Lúcio Arósio getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Manarov in the 55th minute of play forced U21 Norway's goalkeeper Leif Bolstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trond Malviks short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Bat Man to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Trond Malvik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Bat Man made a huge save. U21 Norway's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Torstein Ljosland in the 85th minute. A nice corner shot did that Torstein Ljosland got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bat Man quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A sloppy throw-in by Gene Kelly in the 89th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Brazil's Pedro Galvão. U21 Brazil's Dorival Tepedino got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th match minute, U21 Brazil was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorival Tepedino to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. U21 Brazil had won after a very even match.
