The audience thought a goal was coming when Andres Oper got free with Albertino Martins in the 13th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet as Andres Oper kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Albertino Martins. That made the score 1-1 in the 16 minute of play. Taavi Hansen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, U21 Portugal's Sérgio Conceicão got a free kick in the 20th minute. Andres Oper received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Albertino Martins came out and tried to block the shot, but Andres Oper slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 21st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andres Oper in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Martins saved U21 Portugal from getting behind. Taavi Hansen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldo Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Albertino Martins was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Andres Oper capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Andres Oper really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. Taavi Hansen stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Guarda's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 3-2 when Júlio Guarda sped through U21 Estonia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Taavi Hansen. Sérgio Conceicão hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. U21 Portugal's Albertino Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Oper in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Domingues in the 41st minute of play forced U21 Estonia's goalkeeper Taavi Hansen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andres Oper in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertino Martins saved U21 Portugal from getting behind. When U21 Estonia's Andres Oper in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Portugal's goalie prevented a goal. Albertino Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aabel Luts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aabel Luts made a kick off. When Tomás Domingues came up free with the goalie in the 50th minute, the U21 Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomás Domingues couldn't finish the play. Taavi Hansen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Woody Allen in the 51st minute of the match. U21 Portugal's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rodrigo Teixeira in the 53rd minute. 56 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Andres Oper came free, but Albertino Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of U21 Portugal booed when U21 Estonia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Taavi Hansen made a huge save. 72 minutes into the match, U21 Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Aigar Haug came free, but Albertino Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, U21 Portugal's Woody Allen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-4. In the 93rd minute, Andres Oper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. U21 Estonia succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though U21 Portugal had controlled the match.
