Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Armin Mally got the match started through his kick off. Armin Mally could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Robert Enke made a huge save. If Jens-Ola Nordin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 6th minute, Klas Stenman had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. After 6 minutes, Bojkan Hižak mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Slovenia and the Sweden players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sweden booed when Slovenia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bojkan Hižak didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 8 played minutes Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Per-Erik Danielsson. In the 10th match minute, Sweden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Siggesson to maneuver through the defense. Slovenia's Daš Vidmar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jens-Ola Nordin in the 12th minute of play. Robert Enke made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltazar Lenarčič in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute Jens-Ola Nordin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daš Vidmar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baltazar Lenarčič could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Robert Enke made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Per-Erik Danielsson in the 24th minute of play forced Slovenia's goalkeeper Daš Vidmar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Sweden's goalkeeper Robert Enke had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baltazar Lenarčič. Robert Enke showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armin Mally in the 34th minute of the match. After 37 minutes, Emilijano Kolar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Slovenia and the Sweden players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sweden booed when Slovenia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilijano Kolar didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 41 played minutes Sweden got a freekick which was hit by Per-Erik Danielsson. The referee felt a red card was in order, 45 minutes into the game, when David Wennersten put in a rough tackle. Sweden's Allan Cane was substituted for Per-Erik Danielsson. The goalkeeper, Robert Enke, was totally fooled by Slovenia's Virgil Urbanič, who 48 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When Armin Mally came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Slovenia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armin Mally couldn't finish the play. In the 61st minute of the match, Jens-Ola Nordin tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Daš Vidmar saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Robert Enke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armin Mally, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Slovenia made a substitution. Hrvoje Kuder replaced Baltazar Lenarčič. Slovenia's Daš Vidmar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Slovenia from getting a goal against them. Rasmus Ekeroth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Daš Vidmar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Slovenia made a substitution. Benedikt Rajlić replaced Virgil Urbanič. 79 minutes into the match, Sweden's goal looked a bit too open when Hrvoje Kuder came free, but Robert Enke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Enke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hrvoje Kuder, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 84 minutes into the game, Bojkan Hižak threw the ball into play from the sideline. Sweden's Lars Martinsson quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Daš Vidmar made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Jens-Ola Nordin sent off a good shot on target. When Slovenia's Armin Mally in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sweden's goalie prevented a goal. Jens-Ola Nordin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daš Vidmar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Robert Enke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bojan Jokić, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Hrvoje Kuder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Robert Enke was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Slovenia fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sweden had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
