An unexpectedly hard shot by Zayd Al Hakam in the 21st minute of play forced Egypt's goalkeeper Abdel Haleem Ashraf to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Faruq Ayham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hakeem Ramadan, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Zagloul Marwan made a great header on Egypt's corner, it was just that Lebanon's Faruq Ayham managed to reach the ball for a save. Egypt's Abdel Haleem Ashraf played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdelali Rahmanović in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Adel Metwaly kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Sallam Yousif received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. The Egypt support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
