Stalin Trasierra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tallia Plaza having to interfere. Tallia Plaza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moreta Rossell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 12th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Colombia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Moreta Rossell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Moreta Rossell made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Colombia's Tallia Plaza managed to reach the ball for a save. Krikorian Almazan's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tallia Plaza firmly grabbed it by the left post. Geovanni Bouceda replaced Krikorian Almazan. Mariano Velamines made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Ecuador's Ubelteso Freyle. Geovanni Bouceda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tallia Plaza having to interfere.

Leonardo Fontano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valiente Porta in the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Boris Piñeira got a free kick in the 58th minute. Ubelteso Freyle kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Leonardo Fontano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chuan Xandri in the 61st minute. Colombia's Itzaina Folch was substituted for Uriel Rojas. Ecuador made a substitution. Guillermo Juarrero replaced Stalin Trasierra. Colombia's Tallia Plaza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Bouceda in the 69th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Bouceda in the 72nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Tallia Plaza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roque Maoño could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Leonardo Fontano made a huge save. Geovanni Bouceda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tallia Plaza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Tallia Plaza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Bouceda in the 79th minute of play. Mariano Velamines kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guillermo Juarrero in the 91st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tallia Plaza saved Colombia from getting behind. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Ubelteso Freyle fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tallia Plaza quite easily take care of the ball. Tallia Plaza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni Bouceda in the 95th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Colombia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
