The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Firas Bo Shehri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luka Bakar in the 4th minute of play. Firas Bo Shehri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertus Effendy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Firas Bo Shehri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albertus Effendy, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Firas Bo Shehri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Didin Yudhistira in the 10th minute of play. After having played for 15 minutes, Luka Bakar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Indonesia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luka Bakar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. U21 United Arab Emirates's Firas Bo Shehri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Didin Yudhistira in the 17th minute of play. Firas Bo Shehri came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Indonesia's Didin Yudhistira. But to his dismay, Didin Yudhistira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 22 played minutes U21 Indonesia got a freekick which was hit by Albertus Effendy. A collision led to U21 United Arab Emirates getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Sarhan Taqi hit a great ball. Yonas Sahetappy took the ball and in the 29 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Firas Bo Shehri. Firas Bo Shehri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. U21 United Arab Emirates's Saher Al Jalahma got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Firas Bo Shehri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertus Effendy in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 United Arab Emirates's goalkeeper Firas Bo Shehri, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 40 minutes, Khalel Shadad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U21 United Arab Emirates and the U21 Indonesia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd minute of the match U21 Indonesia got a corner. U21 United Arab Emirates's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yonas Sahetappy ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led U21 Indonesia's Yonas Sahetappy to fire away a dangerous shot which Firas Bo Shehri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Firas Bo Shehri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luka Bakar in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Esmael Al Barrak was the one to do the kick off. Firas Bo Shehri made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Luka Bakar sent off a good shot on target. Ghazi Al Ammar hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sarhan Taqi during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 64 played minutes U21 United Arab Emirates got a freekick which was hit by Sarhan Taqi. After having played for 65 minutes, Yonas Sahetappy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. U21 Indonesia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yonas Sahetappy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of U21 United Arab Emirates booed when U21 Indonesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adolf Saepuloh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 United Arab Emirates's Ghazi Al Ammar got a free kick in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adolf Saepuloh in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Firas Bo Shehri saved U21 United Arab Emirates from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adolf Saepuloh in the 92nd minute of play forced U21 United Arab Emirates's goalkeeper Firas Bo Shehri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 93 played minutes U21 United Arab Emirates got a freekick which was hit by Esmael Al Barrak. After 94 minutes of play U21 United Arab Emirates's Khalel Shadad was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to U21 United Arab Emirates getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Khalel Shadad hit a great ball.
