The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Janis Hell came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by U21 Lithuania's Dominykas Krištopaitis. But to his dismay, Dominykas Krištopaitis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ahti Mäidus short, quick shot in the 10thth minute got Albertas Čivinskas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Olav Elumelu made in the 18th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Aron Lember immediately put the ball in play. After 19 played minutes U21 Estonia got a freekick which was hit by Olav Elumelu. In the 21stth minute of the game Dominykas Krištopaitis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 Estonia's Janis Hell was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 24th minute Ahti Mäidu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertas Čivinskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albertas Čivinskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jass Roht in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the game, Rene Uibomäe was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. U21 Estonia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave U21 Lithuania the free kick. In the 29th match minute, U21 Estonia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Uibomäe to maneuver through the defense. Albertas Čivinskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahti Mäidu in the 31st minute of the match. Janis Hell showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominykas Krištopaitis in the 34th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jass Roht in the 36th minute of play forced U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Albertas Čivinskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dominykas Krištopaitis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Janis Hell read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Rene Uibomäe took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Albertas Čivinskas. U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Dominykas Krištopaitis struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Janis Hell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for U21 Lithuania. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

When U21 Estonia's Ahti Mäidu in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominykas Krištopaitis got free with Janis Hell in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ahti Mäidu in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Albertas Čivinskas saved U21 Lithuania from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Ahti Mäidu put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Albertas Čivinskas. U21 Estonia made a substitution. Ants Kalam replaced Ahti Mäidu. U21 Lithuania's Vydas Armonas was substituted for Henrikas Gasparavičius. U21 Lithuania's Domas Podėris was substituted for Vėjas Masiliūnas. With an all-out effort, U21 Lithuania's Janis Hell threw himself towards the right post 88 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Irmantas Abadauskas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 89 minutes into the game, Irmantas Abadauskas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Janis Hell was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Janis Hell made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Irmantas Abadauskas sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ants Kalam in the 95th minute of play forced U21 Lithuania's goalkeeper Albertas Čivinskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When U21 Estonia's Ants Kalam in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye U21 Lithuania's goalie prevented a goal. Although U21 Estonia had been in control for most of the match, U21 Lithuania still came away with the win.
