Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Felice Signori managed to get in a good position for a shot. Italy's supporters rose to their feet, but Felice Signori was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edgar Fair breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ennio Di Cristofaro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Fair read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Angelo Peruzzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enzo Scifo in the 12th minute of the match. Edgar Fair made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felice Signori in the 16th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felice Signori in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edgar Fair prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgar Fair showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felice Signori, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. When Italy's Felice Signori in the 26th minute got a chance for a shot 26th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Canada's goalie prevented a goal. When the match clock showed 26 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Felice Signori sped through Canada's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Edgar Fair. The supporters of Canada booed when Italy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elia Cucci didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Italy's Alvaro Lemma got a free kick in the 34th minute. In the 35th minute Enzo Scifo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Peruzzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Peruzzi made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Ian Marks sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonzalo Fremont during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Italy booed when Canada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonzalo Fremont didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Fair showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alvise Fulgenzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Angelo Peruzzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Odilon Baxter in the 40th minute. In the 44th minute, Felice Signori hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 46 minutes into the match, Canada's goal looked a bit too open when Felice Signori came free, but Edgar Fair reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Felice Signori made the kick off in the second half. Troy Holmes hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Edmondo Orsini came free with the goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Edgar Fair could save by the left post. Edgar Fair took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felice Signori, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jules Arpin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelo Peruzzi was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Canada's Kenneth Emerson was substituted for Hubert Rodgers. In the 57th minute Canada were awarded a corner. Jules Arpin went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Italy booed when Canada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Odilon Baxter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kosan Kosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute Felice Signori shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Fair saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Peruzzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Scifo in the 63rd minute of play. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Jules Arpin sped through Italy's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Angelo Peruzzi. Canada's Lamont Larivière was substituted for Ian Marks. Italy's Daniele Grifoni was substituted for Alfredo Reggianini. Odilon Baxter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Angelo Peruzzi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Canada's Enzo Scifo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Angelo Peruzzi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Canada made a substitution. Neymar Barčas replaced Odilon Baxter. Angelo Peruzzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Scifo in the 83rd minute of play. In the 93rdth minute of the game Enzo Scifo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Italy's Angelo Peruzzi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Italy players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Canada.
