It was Arman Hansson who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Olof Hääger almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belarus's Radamir Evdokimov did a great save. In the 27th minute Belarus were awarded a corner. Radislav Malafeev went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Naum Filich got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Robert Enke quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 28 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sweden's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Radislav Malafeev was slow to take the kick. During this time Belarus's players had a chance to rest. Mateush Lubovich made a great header on Belarus's corner, it was just that Sweden's Robert Enke managed to reach the ball for a save. Robert Enke made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Radislav Malafeev sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Olof Hääger in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Radamir Evdokimov saved Belarus from getting behind. Radislav Malafeev kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Naum Filich to make the kick off. Gunvald Larsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
