The tension between the U21 El Salvador and the U21 Argentina players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 18thth minute of the game Jonatan Hori who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but U21 El Salvador's Ronald Peña was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christian Calderon hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The supporters of U21 El Salvador booed when U21 Argentina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Pacorro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 El Salvador's Marvin Umanzor got a free kick in the 30th minute. Melchor Vincente hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Jonatan Hori received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ronald Peña came out and tried to block the shot, but Jonatan Hori slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 42nd minute. Carmelo Opilano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, U21 El Salvador's Marcelo Del Carmen got a free kick in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmelo Opilano to strike the kick off in the second half. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ronald Peña prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th match minute, U21 Argentina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Lebon to maneuver through the defense. U21 Argentina's Arnaldo Rudolfo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save U21 Argentina from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Justino Tancredo in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ronald Peña saved U21 El Salvador from getting behind. U21 Argentina's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
