thank goodness a clan for us newbies. be glad when my transfer time comes. been in mz for almost 3 weeks. i have itchy fingers and want the game to move at a faster pace but if you move too fast then you go broke or insane whichever comes first.
another sunny day in the desert but a cold wind thats going to only allow us to get in the 80's. ewww!!! that is darn right cold.

took me two weeks to figure out how to change the time on my mz to comfort with my time. thought i set it when i joined but i didn't enter my address so they had me from Alabama (yuck) instead of Arizona.

wish it wasn't so difficult to get coaches. tweak it slightly. tweak it slightly. tweak this tweak that. one mistake and you lose it. what do you want me to tweak? your nose, huh!!!!!

anyone interested in friendly chat in the forum without any snippy etiquette, this is the place. come in kick up your feet on the table and chaw some fat. say whatever is on your mind, in your heart or in your soul. let the BS fly, or if you want to be prim and proper, thats okay too.
having a good day today. won 3 for 3 so far but it is going to come to a skreeching halt with the game in progress right now, i am afraid.
my arch rival is the person that started this clan 'balloffury'. we go way back in our rivalry (at least 3 wks i think) but it is fierce.
maybe you can set up friendly matches here too.

Hi guys. I like the fact we all joined at a similar time (and we're also all in the Chuck U Farley FL!)...makes it a good gauge of how well we're doing.
I'm thinking we should set up friendlies against each other so that week on week we can try different tactics and notice differences. When I play friendlies against random teams it is often against much better ones who trash me 6-0 etc. What do you think?
Are any of you in the Milk Cup? I got my youths in that, should be interesting as most people should have weak teams.
Also I finally managed to buy a player on the transfer market, got an Argentinian striker...but he got injured in his first friendly! So he won't be playing in the FL game today...but hopefully he'll be firing goals in soon.

hey matt. good morning. hopefully we can get more people in the clan.
like the idea of friendlies amongst us. better than using the test tactics.
anything that happens to a player in a friendly match doesn't carryover to other matches. if you check the injury/suspendion under squad you'll see they don't show up their.
later. time for breakfast. get ready for transfer time for me in a couple hours.

I think it's hard to have an active clan as it involves keeping this thread at the top of the "Federations & Clans" forum. If the MZ developers made a speacial room where we could keep track of stats of matches between ourselves and have our own forum, that would be easier. To be honest I only checked this forum this morning as you sent me a guestbook message...but I generally check MZ chat and Q&A forums only.

i agree it would be easier if we just had a fourm of our own that way we would be able to keep track of things better

yeah im up for playing any cup that i don't have to pay to play :P
Just updated my stadium to the 75-23-2 method using this site
http://www.mentaldog.com/mz/stadium_planner.htm
Wont be ready for like 4 months though.. I was just wondering for facilities is the number in the grey box the recommended amount for that size stadium?
so 10 Restaurants, 20 hot dog stands, 13 fast food etc..

Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 03-05-2011 00:16
aleftly---i never did use that. but the shaded area is good figures for recommendations on those facilities. except i have been cautioned to stay away from the hotel until you get up to the upper div levels because it is so expensive to build and revenue is not that great. rather than a hotel build the clinic ( it will help your players heal quicker but no income).
i get my help from 'adv41449'. you can write him on his guestbook, he will be more than happy to help you with any questions you have. he's been doing this for about 3 or 4 years.

Re: Newcomer clan
By balloffury - 03-05-2011 02:23
Boy is it fusterating to find a player on the market I lost three guys yesterday and they were really good.
-
Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 03-05-2011 02:40
hey balloffury tell me about it!!!!!! all day yesterday on it and half a day today. they are there though. i have bought 5 players so far and they cost me only $647. they are not the best players in the world but they have heavy emphasis in areas i was looking for, and they are really young (18 & 19). so that means i can play them and spend the time training them to be even better over time.
the problem i had was trying to go for the really good ones that div 3,2, and 1 teams are going for, thus they would blow me out of the water with their bidding.
so the idea is to go for players that are better than what you have that will get you through at least the div 6, 5 and maybe div 4. If they are young and trainable then by the time you get into div 4 they are going to be really good. don't get really greedy. patience and time. you know what i mean jelly bean.

Just got a new mentor and need to show him my squad, can anyone explain to me how to use this http://mzplayer.se/ please?
-
Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 04-05-2011 16:15
aleftly--you have to get both programs (manager zone and mz player) to where you can switch back and forth to both programs. once you get that then in clubhouse--squad--summary highlight and copy then go to mzplayer and paste in blank box. hope this helps. not sure what part your having trouble with.

Re: Newcomer clan
By lino_matt - 04-05-2011 17:57
I got some messages from my mentor as well. He said the best thing to do is get rid of all the senior players and just play my youths. That way I save on wages and will have a good team in 2-3 years. Have any of you had that sort of advice?
-
Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 04-05-2011 19:42
hello matt--sorta kinda the advice i have recieved and read. once i got into the transfer market after a day of frustration i came to the same conclusion as the advice you recieved. money is tight at our level so i went for youth and low wages with better attributes in given areas (striker, midfielder, defender, keeper) than my current players. i dropped 5 players already of the original team and probably will drop 2 or 3 more. age players are okay if they have good attributes. i have two players 24 and 25 that i will keep for awhile.
the goal for me is to be competitive at div 6 and 5 maybe even win a few at div 4 and help my youth grow into good players to compete at div 4 and 3 level. if they don't grow then its back to the transfer market to find something better.

Welcome blux3reme and olivierj!
Also I solved my earlier problem dowopado, I was copying and pasting the player profiles instead of squad summary..
Thanks for the help!

Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 04-05-2011 23:53
hello 'blux3reme' and 'olivieri' welcome to the clan. we are more than happy to have you.
been busy with the transfer market for the last couple days. purchased 9 players for about 1000 dollars. not the cream of the crop but they are young and have better attributes than most of the players i originally got. now i need to build up the form on some of them plus training.
something i learned in this process is that form is an important attribute for the players to be playing at their best plus playing together as a team is important. might be just a illusion on my part but it seems like the team i had before the transfers was much better than what i have now. so i am thinking its because of the form and togetherness is the difference.
i'll see in a couple weeks if thats the case. sure hope so cause i think i got some really quality players.
the tactics part of this game drives me nuts!!!!!! trying to figure out what works best against my opponents tactic. love the game though.

Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 05-05-2011 01:27
hey 'marcuthk3' you came to the right place. were always looking for friendly's. especially with teams in our same classifications (newbies). can always get a match with the higher divisions, it helps them but does us no good in evaluating our team.. i'll send you a invite.

Re: Newcomer clan
By dowopado - 05-05-2011 01:36
sorry 'marcuthk3' i tried to do a invite and mz came back and told me i am fully booked. didn't know that, i just take it one day at a time, never look more than 1 day ahead..:) i will leave a note for 'balloffury' he is always hurting for friendly's
