Team,
There is a thread in the Managerzone Talk forum which hits on an important issue: the poor standard of youth players coming through, and the rendering of the youth exchange pointless.
I'll repeat what I've said there, but have raised it here so there can be some discussion on the issue being addressed.
Youth players have been (for lack of a better word) abysmal, recently. I'm so glad that others have raised the issue and I feel vindicated knowing that I'm not alone.
Half of my 16 year olds are 2* highest potential and 1* lowest potential from the start of the season. For me, that's utter garbage because managers cannot have any form of long term planning in such circumstances. That is further compounded when the stamina/speed attributes are often in the lower potential, which again, gives no ability to build a competitive team without splashing some serious cash in the transfer market. I also hasten to add that I've just tried to do my weekly exchange and ALL THREE prospects were, similarly, 2* highest and 1* lowest.
With an ever inflating transfer market, the youth system is becoming more and more crucial (it already was really important for long term planning). Yet, it seems that this is also being squeezed and it's just going to cause a chasm between existing and new teams.
Can someone please address this issue and try and find a way to at least rebalance things?
