Event Paths update - discussion thread

Badge image
We recently released an update for the event:
- Instead of acquiring rewards from the event shop, we're introducing a brand-new reward system: Paths.
- We are also adding two brand new Chips as part of the Paths update: Youth Exchange Chip and Super Scout Chips.
- In football you will be able to gain new tattoos and a new shirt pattern.
- Plus, for those who want to progress faster, you can now play a custom-made amount of matches in one go.

For more information on these new features, read here:
https://www.managerzone.com/?p=news&nid=118238

It was released on March 14, as announced here:
https://www.managerzone.com/?p=news&nid=118404

Please direct any questions, bug reports or thoughts on this update to this thread!

I am planning to use the Youth Exchange chips next season on day one and cull some of the weaker 18 year olds at that point.

No they should be added straight away. If you go to the transfer market and check the upper right corner, you should see the "Assistance Remaining".

For the next events… Since now we have more chips, I was wondering... what are the chances of having some sort of new feature that lets us apply two chips at the same time to the same player? E.g., time-saver + availability or efficiency + availability? Reaping the benefits of both, of course. Just some random thought I had.
(I'm not sure if this would be feasible.)

This update is truly horrible; the previous one was much better. Tattoos are of little importance. Please bring back the 8 free tokens to send to the CE.

Maybe instead of the not-so-useful Youth Exchange Chip and Super Scout Chips additionally to be won in Winner Path a Super Chip
Its use would cause the possibility of choosing 2 other chips (different!) during one camp. That is, in total, such a camp would cost as much a 3 chips but would give an interesting, unquantifiable effect.

To complete each round cost 1000 coins. With the previous system, you could collect 4 availability chips for (880 coins - 190,210,230,250).

If you choose the Victory Path, you get 7 (!) availability chips once completed. It will cost 1000 coins which is a little more expensive than the previous system.

You can complete all rounds by buying only 500 coins... I did it with 580 but I missed some tickets in the first days.

Loyal players cannot be sold on the transfer market. However they can be fired, there should be a button with a bin on towards the bottom right corner and you should be able to release them from there on the squad page.

I think there are good chances of that. 😊 It's a discussion that we have already had internally and we believe that some of the chips should be possible to combine without any negative effects, such as the ones you mentioned, while other combinations are more risky.

Since most of us will have now additional 10 exchanges per season, which is around +20% more players per season, can we expect some decline in 16 year olds quality as we had during first chips introduction? Otherwise we will see another balls inflation which is already pretty high.

There is already a decline. Nearly impossible to change to good players. most of those on offer are simply trash.

I’m amused that there haven’t been more complaints about having to buy 3 instant match credits for an inflated cost before being able to get to the second tier of any of the paths. Purchasing a single instant match costs 30 badges, but everyone is made to buy 3 instant matches for 140 badges which is 50 badges more than if you bought them outright from the bottom of the page. As most people end up buying instant matches with their leftover badges anyway I feel this is not a fair way to treat those who are participating in the event.

I don't see that as a problem. Cause the 140 badges are also an investment to open the next level.

I agree with you! There is already an option below to buy instant matches for less money. It doesn't make sense to buy every path that opens. It's like throwing away badges. I really liked the event because they added more prizes. And look, it's not a problem to have the instant match as a prize, but forcing you to buy it is disrespectful to the users. We already have to pay a lot to be able to play the entire event, and that just gets in the way. I suggest that future events review the problems pointed out here on the forum and also make the prizes more dependent on our effort rather than just paying and paying. (Of course you have to pay, but don't make it totally dependent, you know?). Thanks and see you later!

If they made the instant matches on the path cheaper than buying them straight away with badges then it might be a valuable addition to the path, say 5 instant matches for the 140 badges. At least then it would be a comparable value. If they’re committed to keeping the instant matches maybe have it as a single entry point which has to be purchased once, but Having to over pay for instant matches to start on every path is too much. If someone were to try to complete all four paths they would waste 200 badges due to the upcharge on instant matches on the first step of every path.

Thanks for listening

Re: Event Paths update - discussion thread

Having completed the event I don’t mind it as a concept. Always appreciate innovation, investment in trying to improve the game.

However, my two pieces of feedback:

1. The path/ or options to collect free spend tokens are too limited. These were by far the most valuable to me given the model I run and I was only able to collect a couple in this new format despite completing two paths.

2. The cost/ necessity of needing to collect instant matches is over-weighted. I’ve never bought these in events by choice so it’s disappointing to end up with less choice.

I hope this feedback can be taken into account when future pathways are created. Thanks

I think this is a good point and yes, it is a discussion we have had. It isn't something we think is needed at this point but wouldn't rule it out for the future.

Thanks for your input! We will keep balancing the rewards and probably add new ones as well in the future. We do like the paths structure because it means the manager needs to make som difficult decisions, make a commitment to a path and be persistent in pursuing it.

Better scouting opportunities has actually been a pretty frequent suggestion through the years, so we believe that a lot of people will enjoy it. But your opinion is noted.

I understand what you mean, team money is always useful, but we need to carefully balance the amount of team money flowing into the game from events. We added some transfer assistance and removed a few freebie chips in order to compensate. We also felt that the 8 freebie chips that you could gain in previous events were simply too many, so we took this opportunity to rebalance the event.

I hear you. We want to make each path a commitment to a cause, and going through all the steps is part of that commitment. Having said that, we may very well exchange the scout credits for something else in the future. The event is something we'll continue to evolve.

Hello,

in the new event it`s end on 17 june (and you have one more week to buy) but last season on exploration path you can take the loyal players on new season) but now dont help us because 17+7 = 24 and it`s week 13 and dont help us.

Hi. The entire event (including week after matches can no longer be played) is inside this season, so you need to claim Loyal Players before this season is over. This is normally the case. The last event was an exception to that rule, it started a week later than normal due to other circumstances, which meant that you were able to wait until the following season before claiming the Loyal Players. This is not what we want, going forward.

However, we are actually planning to create a forum thread around this very topic soon, because we would like to have some input from users regarding the preferred age of loyal players (not just in relation to the event but also the tour). We are open to changing the age if there's a consensus. So please keep an eye open for that thread (we'll probably start it late this season or early next).

That sounds really good. I took this topic up on admin forum regarding player age. I fell it’s sad a loyal player comes in the end of the season and is 21 years old. So we can’t really use them for u21.
So either the event should come in the start of a season so you have them a whole season as 21. Or they should be 19 or 20 years old so you could use them longer.
Right now I fell the use of loyal players isn’t as good as it could be.

Saludos

We all know that historically translations are not Managerzone's forte but offering -in Spanish a "Ficha de intercambio de campus de entrenamiento“ (a Training Camp Exchange Chip) and actually offering a youth player exchange is a mistake that should be corrected by offering managers who obtained this chip, the training camp exchange advertised in the event.
Note that in English and in Spanish from Latin America the names are correct: "Youth Exchange Chip" and "Ficha de Intercambio Juveniles".
This mistake costed me dearly until I realized that they were not the advertised Chips and I want the chip I've invested in!

I have spent power tokens, the 8 hour multiplier and the first 3 steps of this path by believing in what the sign said in both Football and Hockey and you wash your hands of it as if nothing?

One single scout match was always so insignificant. But having the opportunity to play 10 at once gives a bit more of an insight.

But speaking of experience (the_champ used that word) I have an idea:
There could be experience chips. Applicable on one player, boosting XP by - let's say - one quarter experience ball. 4 available chips in total, one per path. If you collect them all you could boost one player's XP by one full ball.

And one off topic question: Does players gain XP by playing scout matches?
