Forward what to choose?

Badge image
Hey there,
Question, whats better for an forward:
1) 28 years + with 9 shooting and 8 ball control + 7 intel - full maxed

OR

2) 20 years + 9 shooting + 9 control + 4 intel - not maxed at ball control at the last one

the price is the same - but what if the younger one will get maxed at intell.earlier than the old player? As far as i understood intelligence plays a great role in this game...

tnx

In my opinion, in that scenario it would be more penalizing for the second player is lack of experience. He could end up being a better forward than the first one, but not right now.

And regarding play intelligence... Yes, it is very important, I feel it acts as a boost of all other skills because the player will take better decisions. However, a long time ago I bought a player similar to the younger one you listed there and at the end of that first season he maxed intelligence with just 6 balls (not awful but not exactly what you would like to have in your team). I remember he was very expensive being so young and promising 🤔, so in the end I decided to keep him because I knew I would get way less than what I paid for him. And believe or not, he played great his entire career and scored a lot of goals.

So, there are no definite answers for some topics and sometimes you should take risks or just try to make the best of what you have.

It's hardly possible to predict striker performance. In my country's top league, there's some absolute mediocrity among the top scorers almost every season. E.g., we had a leading striker with 8 in shooting and heading (team was playing wings), and he was consistently scoring many goals for a few seasons. There is also a 9 shooting 8 heading striker who was a consistent high-scorer for a few seasons in a row. And then it's not rare to see great players with high skills perform poorly.
