Players Experience

Does the "experience" attribute only increase in league matches, or also in friendly matches/cups?

This is what the "guide" says about it:

"An indication of the number of competitive matches a Player has been involved in during their career, contributes to a Player’s overall footballing ability and is therefore an important factor for all Players. High Experience levels can, for instance, enable Players to avoid making bad tackles."

So maybe "competitive matches" doesn't include friendly matches, but it doesn't include friendly cups either? I think it would be more logical if it increased in all matches, just like in real life...

Anybody?

Friendly matches definitely contribute to experience. I used to spam them for my younger players (aged 16-18), and they would often reach 3 balls of experience while still being 18 (usually, this only happens when players turn 19 if you don't go out of your way).

I believe official cups also count. I'm not sure about friendly leagues, but I would guess they don't.

What you wrote is interesting. Anyway, thanks for replying...
I will try out the friendly matches, so if I understand correctly, you play with your youngsters frequently and don't worry about their form, and their "experience" attribute increases. However, playing 6 friendly matches in a season and getting an average of 1 "experience" ball per season seems quite low to me. So, you can raise their "experience" to 10 by the time they are about 27 years old...

Correct. If you don't care about their form, playing 10 friendlies per week is how you can get the most out of your juniors, imo. You could argue that they are more prone to injuries by doing this, but it's a rare occurrence anyway. The slight increase in experience is worth it at almost no cost.

You can find more info about experience in this thread (not in English, sorry, but maybe you're willing to translate):
