Keeping 10 - What Else...

I have seen previous discussions about what our keepers require which are quite dated, I am curious for opinions of fellow players on whether they deem much else important for a goalkeeper besides his keeping ability.

For peace of mind I like Stamina and Intelligence but how much of this is required just shot stopping with little movement. Aerial Passing too, my young keeper with 2 balls in AP still clears the half way line when he kicks out so the more I watch the games the less I see them do besides Keeping.

Let me know what you guys think.

You’re right on all the above.

In addition:

AP is really important. A lot of attacks start from goal kicks so my assumption has always been the higher the AP the more likely you are to maintain possession.

One that’s debated: BC also an important skill as I’d suggest it means your GK is more likely to hang on to the ball/ less likely to spill it back to the striker. (Particularly annoying vs headers from wings).

So suggested order:

Keeping
Stamina
PI
AP
BC

Personally I think you can get away with 6 SP if you need to compromise to get better levels of the above. But again, I’m sure others will debate that!

I would like to add to this conversation:

Is Stamina "really" that important? As the author says correctly, there is so little movement from the Keeper, what does it need to be 8+ Stamina at least?
Because after Minute 80+ the Keeper is not that good anymore at even Keeping?

How far a Player can run before they are tired or exhausted. This includes goalkeepers. At half time, Players will regain some stamina. When Players become tired or exhausted their performance will drop.

This is from beginners guide from the help menu, players probably drop in Stamina no matter what they do in the field.
