Upcoming price changes

For anyone who will not pay attention to the news :

Crew message :

Most of you know about the current global inflation and how it is affecting businesses around the globe. Unfortunately, ManagerZone is no exception and we need to parry the inflation with a slight increase of the Power Token price. Managers who have played ManagerZone for a long time know that this is nothing we do frequently.
We know that times are tough for a lot of people right now, and this is nothing we do lightheartedly. We want ManagerZone to be available and affordable for everyone to enjoy but, even with a little price increase, we believe that you get a lot of entertainment and value for your money.

The price changes will be approximately 10-15% depending on country and product. We do however want to give you a heads-up before making these changes. We will wait until October 12 before making the price changes to give you all a chance to adapt to the new situation. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our payment support.

We appreciate all of you for spending time in ManagerZone, making it the best management game in the world!

Odp: Upcoming price changes

they doing nothing with that game so why they need to increase prices?

best management game :D

Re: Upcoming price changes

I for one will not be purchasing any more PT’s.

It amazes me that one nation can pay peanuts and another top dollar! For the same online game!

Re: Upcoming price changes

Btw Argentinian users have had a separate notification that they will not face the increase!

Why ?
(lazy to translate)

Re: Upcoming price changes

wait wait what? some will get the increase in price and some not? OMG, how they calculated this via diesel prices? :D? Diesel prices must be crucial for this managerzone game.

Re: Upcoming price changes

Lol
The sim being so wing heavy and now they've decided to raise the price higher than inflation.

Hilarious. Joke game

Re: Upcoming price changes

I think it's laughable and so naive for anyone to feel angry at a price rise. If you work in any industry or business you would know that the price rises are fair and in line with cost of living.

I've never agreed that all countries pay different amounts for tokens though.

Re: Upcoming price changes

Yes powertokens in the UK cost 3 times as much as in Argentina already … then we get an increase while they don’t…..

Re: Upcoming price changes

Badge image
Everyone should pay the same . No wonder some countries are much stronger than others.

It's been a problem ever since the start of the game. It was explained by crew it was based on cost of living but that's totally incorrectly proved multiple times.

Re: Upcoming price changes

Badge image
Looks like only a few countries are forking the bill here.

UK Leagues are already depleted.

Whilst I don’t disagree we haven’t experienced an increase in a while, echo the sentiments that the disparity between country pricing is driving out highest paying users - which is a terrible model.

Re: Upcoming price changes

Realistically I’ll be buying a bulk of PT’s before 12 Oct to get me through the development of my current build at the current pricing and then re-evaluate later. Not ideal, but in theory what I’d already signed up for.

Has anyone got the breakdown of pricing p/ country and number of approx paying users (I’d gauge by national cup signups?).

I’m sure I saw one a few years back - getting cold in the UK now, South America looking more and more appealing! 😅

The reason that Argentina will not get an icrease in October is that they already got an increase (for some payment methods over 100%) in August. That increase was due to new fees implemented by the Argentinian government.

Hi Crew,
In December 2021 I paid 79.99 Euro for 550 PT. This month I paid 99,99. When did you inreased the price? Will you increase the price in October again?
Thanks for your answer.

Mate,

The same package in Scotland is €106.96!

Why are we paying €7 more?
Love to know what Argentina pays for the 550PT’s!

When I first played this game Scotlands leagues used to be packed up D2/D3. D1 used to be almost impossible to get promotion.

UK&I had a massive community! It’s dead now! Totally dead! Next season is probably going to be my last!

Lucky you... same package in USA is €147.00

It's clear that Countries with very cheap tokens like Argentina, Brazil, Turkey, etc. have 1000s of users while Countries like UK, USA, Australia, etc. in which the price of the tokens is high have about 40/50 CM users..... I said this before, the price of the tokens should have been lowered, at least should have experimented a bit with the concept like lets at, slash the prices of the tokens in England (or any other) by 70%, invest on some targeted cheap publicity like google ads or something and just see what happens, if the gamble doesn't pay off I doubt they'll be losing much money out of the 40 or 50 CMs they have in England and they can always bring the prices up and if it does pay off and you convert browsers to customers, then extend the experiment to more Countries.... this should have been done before, now is not the time I suppose.

Anyway, I don't think it's the best time to raise the price of tokens, one one hand tokens are an asset that don't cost the company any money to produce so there's no need to raise the price and on the other, people is cutting off on superfluos expending and I reckon for many people MZ falls in that category, just got an email about my power being raised by a crazy amount of money, so I dropped my spotify service, dropped a fancy beer delivery service, dropped Hello Fresh and some other things I don't really need....

Raising prices might mean MZ will lose some paying users, lets say they raise the prices 10% and because of this they lose 15% of their paying customers, that means the company will make less money than if they never raised the prices in the first place...

Re: Upcoming price changes

I 100% agree with you Adrian!
Btw US price is mental!

I’ve recently cut back on Prime and Netflix. Disney next!

Cancelled all my sports packages last year as too expensive. To watch Scottish football teams I’d need to pay for Sky, BT Sport and Premier Sports! Just not doing it! I’m sick of been fleeced!

Re: Upcoming price changes

Some good ideas on here & no doubt crew trying to figure this all out behind the scenes.

All I do know is, anyone I’ve ever tried to encourage to join the game can’t understand why it’s twice the price of FIFA each year. I also have to give them the heads up it will probably take 2 years to be competitive!

Love the game, addictive despite it’s flaws but to the points above needs new blood which won’t happen with price increases.

It’ll be about £30 . When you look at the odd fiver v £1.50 it’s not a big deal but put it £95 v £30 as one off purchases it becomes a joke

Re: Upcoming price changes

I think that some aspects of the game that are restricted through club membership / power tokens dont need to be for the countries paying more per token . It doesn’t impact the people who pay or negatively affect their chances if say friendly league and cup entries are more accessible . It actually enhances the game experience for all and might lead to players staying in the game and paying further down the line
For example , £5 for 25 power tokens, but in that you get 5 entries to friendly leagues or cups . Doesn’t affect any one else or provide the club member benefits but makes the tokens purchased a bit more value for money and fun

Re: Upcoming price changes

Friendly cups not official cups

Re: Upcoming price changes

@crew Why has the price of power tokens in England gone up tonight!

Your message clearly states the 12th October.

Re: Upcoming price changes

apparently the increase was in all countries.
In Argentina we received an increase of 16%

Has there been a mistake and this has implemented early!?

Re: Upcoming price changes

It is clear that it was an error and perhaps something from the payment platform.
Let's wait for the comments of the crew

You make some great points like usual. Miss your posts in the dying English forum where people seem to only come to complain now case in point.

I think the message could have come with a plan what crew are doing to improve the game and some real deadlines to offset the disgruntled community and feel they are still getting value for money.

All you have to do is look at all the great managers and contributors to the game who have left. Yes, crew you built the game but it's the consumers who make it possible

Re: Upcoming price changes

I think like many of you that it is not the time to increase prices... 1 year ago, as some users say, they already pay €20 less 79.99... now they pay 99.99... how much more are we going to pay?

Apart from the token event it was already worth 80 tokens!! Excessively expensive...

Our payment provider accidently increased the price on Monday 26th September at 15.00 CET. It was reversed to the old prices again today (Tuesday 27th September) at 10.11 CET. Today, we will add extra Power Tokens to everyone who was affected by this mistake.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact our payment support.

We are sorry about the inconvenience
