Returning Manager.. No players but I have $48 millions.

Badge image
Hello, I'm coming back to this game after a LONG time away from it. I started in 2003, I stopped somewhere in 2005-8. I'm not sure.

So, I have no players and $48million. Right now, I'm trying to players just to get a formation going.

Do you recommend that I keep buying more players or get just enough players to have a formation, and start a youth academy to get future players that way?

Thank you.

I recommend to build strong U20 squad now if you plan for long term.

Start youth academy at Day 1 new season.

I guess it depends on your goal? Sr? Uxx?

long passes and flanks is top right now.Playing short pass is more or less useless i think.I was stupid enough to hope that with a good enough team short pass should be fine.So far not really. My team still need 2-3 experience each though, so lets' see how things go in a couple of seasons.
I did beat a team playing with flanks only in national u23 final with this team, so let's see
For you id advise flanks tho

I was in the same boat recently, returning with a weak squad but some cash in the bank.

I'd suggest making sure you have a plan before spending your stockpile. There's no harm in even just running a u18 squad in leagues while you decide (instead of wasting $$ buying temporary scrubs and paying their salaries).

If your goal is senior squad success, you could probably look at buying up 24yo's now as they're relatively cheap being u23 castaways but not ready for the senior squad.

A team of 24yos should be good enough for the first few leagues as you move up from div5 and if you get good ones (and patch holes if some max early) you should be able to turn them into an elite senior squad by the time you hit other top senior teams.

I did that on a smaller scale here in Canada jumping from div2 to the CSL (top league) in two seasons. Just adding some touches this offseason to hopefully stick in the CSL.
