Returning Player - 4 Star Recruit

Age: 29

Unfortunately it looks like I wasted his prime training years...

But would there be any value in seeing if my four star recruits can catch up to the to players?

I would say no.

They are 5 seasons behind on training and they probably have started to lower their training speed. They would probably Look like 22-23 yo players when they turn 30.

But if you want to still train them I would suggest not maxing their speed and stamina so when they turn 30 they avoid detoration. Can't really tell you how far they would go on those skills so probably going for 7 in speed and stamina would be enough. As training skills that starts to detorate would be "wasted" time mostly as the used training time are lost in this case and training these players would need efficent training so they could be any use in long run.

Players detorate 2 balls from the maximum level of balls they would gain so if these guys would max speed and stamina at 9 they would stay at 7. Any lower maxing would make them detorate under the 7.

Buuut like said I would sack them you get new 4 star potential from youths to train properly. And only value in training these players would be you training them for yourself you probably are not going to get any value by selling them at any point.

Thanks for the honest feedback!

Do you know if anyone has actually tested whether deterioration happens to a unmaxed player?

Like if they were left at 6 with an 8 ball max, would the max just drop to 6, with no change to the actual balls?

Or could there still be a 2 ball drop to 4 with there just being the opportunity to train them back to 6 balls (the new max SP)?

Manual says following

Deteriorations
At the age of 30 the Players will start to deteriorate in the affected attributes (Speed and Stamina). The deterioration will start slowly, and will increase by every Season based on the Player's age. The deterioration rate will be at its peak when a Player turns 34. A Player can lose a maximum of 2 balls in each attribute affected by deterioration (a total of 4 balls).

Each training day, one of the two affected attributes will be picked at random and the Player will then deteriorate in that attribute if possible. If he's already at or below his new maximum level, he will not deteriorate at all that day.

I have seen players that are underdeveloped that they dont detorate at all or only fraction of the skill or only one ball. So players new maximum level will change and if the previous maxing was 9 his new will be 7 even if he wasn't trained all the way to the 9.

In manual there was also mention that players can't train in detoriating skills so if players former maxing was 10 and the new one would be 8 im not entirely sure if they could gain ball from 7 to 8 anymore even if they wasn't maxed at 7 as manual states that players can't train in these skills.

Training during deterioration
During the deterioration period, you will be able to gain skill balls in attributes other than Speed and Stamina. You will then see two entries in the daily Training Report, one for the deterioration and one for any improvement in the other skill trained. It will not help the Player if you try to train him in Speed or Stamina at this time.

So what I would understand about this Even if player was unmaxed he wouldn't Be able to train in speed and stamina anymore.

I searched transfer list for 4 speed players that are 30+yo and they were able also train in speed after they had started to detorate. So even if these players turn 30 and their new max would be 8 you would still be able to train them from 7 to 8.

But like said I wouldn't advice on keeping them cos you can get new potential to go with.
