Hidden stats/Skills

I was wondering what people's opinions were on players having hidden skills or stats?

My opinion is it is all formula with a random percentage placed into the mix.

However I've seen people sell people if they don't score goals etc but if they have the balls then it's irrelevant. Eventually the law or average would even out over a bigger time period.

So essentially what I'm asking is. You have two players with the exact same ball mix. You play them in the exact same conditions etc. Would they more often than not perfect almost identical over a period of games. Or do you believe some players are destined to not perform to their ball skill etc? Some better and some worse?

I'm intrigued to hear your opinions?

Something else must affect how player perform. A while ago I bought a 10 sp/sh/bc & 9 st striker who just couldn't score goals. He only had 6 PI which likely contributed but surely not enough to be essentially useless.

I am inclined to believe that hidden stats/skills exist. I've seen some inexplicable shit happen. And I do watch a lot of matches. I try to understand how this game works. But sometimes there is no explanation at all. I think I need to pray more before the matches?

There are people that don't believe it of course.

But for me hidden stats and skills do exist.

Plus, games like Football Manager have hidden stuff. Why wouldn't Managerzone include them? If it was only a bunch of probabilistic battles between player attributes, would get boring fast. There must be some hidden stuff.

Could some of what you see not be attributed to the random element to everything? So no hidden stuff just random parameter. Where a players performance could swing between and 6 and 10. But is 8 on an average day?

Yes I would agree with that. I think it's possible that players don't play to their max every match. This is a common feature in football games.

Also, I think the simulator is not the same (in terms of parameters) for all different kinds of competitions.

But ofc this is just speculation.

100% exist and all managers who have been around a long time will have seen it.

Easiest to see with strikers as they are responsible for scoring so probably the easiest metric to measure. A team called something like Quixing (probably completely wrong) won 2/3 Top World Leagues with a striker who on paper was only decent. The player was just a goal scorer though and it’s common to see.

I look at strikers goal records before buying them. Obviously this depends on the position they are played by their current club and their competition but it still gives a good indicator of future success
