What would you do?

I'm feeling like a new challenge is needed, but need some inspiration or ideas of how to handle the step. I have approximately [b]26,000,000 USD[/b] and my youths are about to turn 18 soon (but lacking any promising player really) so the outlook is pretty bad. I have just used the transfer market to buy / sell to build a balance. Meanwhile I've been enjoying managing the National Team, but I've left my own club pretty unattended. So, how do I best use the finances? If you had a useless team, without any real prospects either, but decent money - would you "restart" the academy or what do you suggest? I want to eventually be somewhat competitive in the UxxI'm feeling like a new challenge is needed, but need some inspiration or ideas of how to handle the step.

I would in your case set myself a goal of winning U21/u23 youth league - or both. I would discard all youths. Order new batch of 23 16year olds at the new season - exchange dead wood for better ones. Try to build some decent players for U21. I would then buy some talented, but cheap 19-20year olds from market, train them, and in long run sell them for profit if possible. At the same time I would use those players to gain promotions in U21 league. Give it a couple of seasons and at some point you should be at the top of the U21 league. By that time you should have generated some more money. Then use those funds to buy really good U21 team which can hopefully win U21 youth league. At the end of season sell all 21-year olds and restart cycle or sell 21-year olds who are worthless on u23 level and try to win U23 youth league with same or similar tactics. Really sound plan mentioned above. Unfortunately senior competitions are dying and Uxx leagues look to only get bigger and have larger participation especially with crews induction of U21 and U23 WL’s soon. Youth leagues are fun, generate decent income and allow you to build a team for the future. I think focus there would be good and then you can energy carry them through to seniors if you like after U23.Really sound plan mentioned above.

Thanks Evosa, just a question though. If I reset the academy and start with 16 year olds in this new season, do you mean I should join U21 YL already and play with the 16 year olds, just for income purposes while they are being trained and become older? Or when do you suggest that one would join the Youth leagues? Or you mean to buy some 19-20 year olds, mix with some 16 year olds in the lineups initially to try to somehow stay/promote in the U21 league?

Thanks Evosa, just a question though. I would opt in right now for all 3 youth leagues(you'll require 1 ticket per season to join ALL THREE LEAGUES). Mostly for income purposes. But it will take some time to reach to top. If I am not mistaken your region should be central europe. So you should start from div3. Meaning it will take at least 3 seasons to reachs to the U21 top youth league, so theres time to build very competitive team. I feel like everybody is doing this. Isn't it a bad timing to sell all the 21-year old at the end of the season? Wouldn't it be better to train them and sell them mid-way through their 22nd year, or in the end of them being 22?

I have the same feeling. Every time I tried to sell players at the end of the season they weren't worth a lot. However, I always used cheap players. Maybe the players keep their value if they are worth more? I'm not sure — I'm still trying to understand how U21 works. But I always had the impression it was better to sell them when they are 22. But then you have to pay salaries…

I have the same feeling. Every time I tried to sell players at the end of the season they weren't worth a lot. However, I always used cheap players. Transfer market in managerzone works basically in a similar manner as real life goods prices - when offering on market is high, prices go down. When demand is high, offering low, prices go up! Special players will always be expensive, regardless of demand and offering as long as there is free money to be thrown on market!
