Fix the SIM

I am fed up.....

Losing to a team that is close to me is fine, losing to teams 2-3 LVL's below is JUST STUPID!

FIX IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am an Inch from leaving this game.

I am also playing footballstratgey online --- If I am Manchester United IN THAT GAME,I PLAY WEST HAM I WIN 1+ EVERY GAME.... MAYBE A DRAW ON A CRAP DAY.

Not looked at this game in years, seems the sim is the same and people are still complaining.... :-) It ain't cheap I will say that, £25 for six months Club Membership.

People always complain when loosing matches. If they win the league you won't hear them.

I think the sim is quite stable.

For me this value is still a little higher, the Crew should equal the value of the Tokens for all countries.

It lacks the appeal to new users. Far superior product out there for cheaper. The loyal long term fan base, diehards and returning old members are what’s keeping the game alive.

That's true. There are hardly new users. New users should have the chance to play the game with a full membership for a couple of months to experience the game.

Could the Crew explain which way the match events and results are being generated? You have instant matches, and they generate the events and result in less than a second, it is a joke. Maybe just couple of parameters are calculated.

its the same basic sim as years ago when it used to take a while, but todays computers are exponentially better at processing so it makes sense that it takes a second.

I think at least fix so stupid tactics cant win a game to me that doesnt make sense and unrealistic. Some of the tactics people use to win are bizarre and unrealistic.

Well, they are results of research, and they prove results. Just because 4-3-3 is mort normal IRL, the exploration of tactics here is just what separates the ones that want to play and win, and the ones who don’t bother doing the research.

Exactly- the more people accept it’s a simulation management game and not real soccer the better results they will have.

I cant say for sure exactly how it works, believe it has something to do with last league game(s). However, the results in the in the instant matches and the following real match seems quite coherent in my experience.

The odd tactic looks strange for sure. However, I think I have seen teams irl use wingers in different constalations, and I have also seen teams line up in a 442/433 playing thru the middle 😁

If you want real life tactics, then there are some other games that (almost) purely focus on tactical perspective of the game. In ManagerZone the focus is little bit different, though tactics do play big part, but it is not that essential part of the game. Focus is more on long term developement of your team, better you are at it, more successful you are.

Ye, I feel the sim is OK...real football is also unpredictable - if the team that has a slight advantage in player value always won, the game would be boring.

Btw...Did all big teams lost/didint win during the last week? Bayern,Barca,Juventus, City(with penalties), Man United, Real madrid(0-0 draw), PSG(0-0 draw)

Still, probability of having a result like this in real life is less than 1%, probability of having a result like this on MZ, about 20% and that's the problem.

Quick example, in the MLS New England Minas beat me 4-2 , I know the team and we're even so that's fair, then he lost 4-1 to Little Elm which is a shocker, that's a team that up to that point had 5 losses out of 5 games, next game I played Little Elm and beat them 8-1 and New England went to play Lobo de Miami who was leading the MLS and beat them 5-0....

In a league, you get 20% of random results and it's not great but in the long run eventually the best teams rise to the top, problems are cups, nothing more frustrating than winning against some of the best teams in MZ only to get a random result and get eliminated by a weak but lucky team.

Anyway, it is what it is and even if we should have less random results and the best team should win more often I'm not too bothered about that, the main problem in my eyes is that we've been playing with this SIM for far too long, the SIM doesn't have to be perfect but after 10+ years of playing with the same SIM it just gets old and tired, there's just nothing new to discover that has not been discovered already, you're not going to find a new secret magical tactics to give you wins because everything has been tried already... I mean, when this SIM was new, it took a few years for people to discover that wings is better than short passing, people didn't even trained their players for heading or long balls because nobody knew it was effective until a guy with a crappy team made it to the 1st division of Argentina playing wings and beating much better teams than his and for the first couple of years with this SIM, managers would keep discovering little tricks and tried new tactics and countertactics.

While I do agree that sim has some issues regarding results like this, which is frustrating. But generally the gaps between the teams are minimal, so basically everything could happen. That is why I think frustrations are easy to come as people take a look of the teams on paper and they instantly think something like ”I am first, he is last, I must win” or “I play in div1 World league, he plays in world league div3 – I must win.” Etc. Which is a indicator that it is more of a psychological issue of people, not simulator.

There are 3 things that I personally hate about sim which cause what you call random result I think:

1.Situation where your defenders fail to perform for somereason, usually defenders fail to tackle less then 40% of tackles and have low interception numbers.

2.Situation where goalkeeper starts to perform like he is chosen one from matrix, who is able to tweak the code in a way that you cant score.
3.Opposite of second point, but opponent striker starts to perform like he is chosen one from matrix, who is able to tweak the code in a way that he is able to score like 50% of the chances taken.

4. Combination of 1 and 2/3 which is worst, which makes users feel like sim is making unjustice to them.

So the question only to me is, does game developers know what causes it? My experience so far with MZ indicates that when simulator calculates performance of players/teams, there is some kind of idiotic calculation parameter(s) which causes above situations. My question is would it be possible to remove that parameter? With a lot of testing of course as I assume that there are several weird parameters which altogether cause those results. I know that some users may now come out and argue that “football is round and that would remove the possibility of small teams beating big ones” but I don’t think so. As I have mentioned before the caps between teams are so diminutive so it shouldn’t be an issue.

Tactically MZ has developed a lot even without improvements to the sim. I remember when I started then a lot of people used wings 4-3-3 like this:

Nowdays you can see 2 winger tactics, short passing tactics etc. Basically you cant say that wings are mostly efficient as take a look of the world league game tactics, you can see both short passing and wing tactics. Althou wing tactic seem to be more better as defensively teams that play wings, play the ball out of defence from air, in short passing tactics, ball is mostly played out of defence on ground, which are more vulnerable to interceptions..

Btw..almost forgot to mention: do not throw numbers from the top of the head to give credibility to your arguments! :P that is just very rude and unethical! Althou I didn't check but if your numbers are correct then I apologize upfront, but right now they look like numbers taken randomly from the top of the head!

Just because it's a simulated game doesn't mean that you can't ask for logic in the simulations.

Has been more than 10 years from me stating that randomness in the SIM needs to stop. We invest too many time and money to be dealing with unfair results. And the only way to aknowledge this is to be one of the top teams in the game, with elite players, and come to the conclussion that you can still lose to a middle tier inactive user... That's the reason many top users decided to part ways with mz(including myself for several years).
