Only 5 goals out of 35 shots on target! Is this OK? :/

I feel like I've always struggled with this and can't seem to figure it out... I'm using 3 attackers and all of them have excellent shooting skills, ball control and intelligence... What could be the issue? Is it normal to score only 5 times out of 35 shots on target? I'm afraid that my strongest competitors would score more when reaching me, even tho' my squad is obviously more valuable than theirs.I feel like I've always struggled with this and can't seem to figure it out...
