My 3 latest league games show 20-30 shots on target each, however only 1 goal on aggregate.
Since there were 3 different keepers, I doubt they were all having a very good day.
So what am I missing?
Thank you!

I remember I had the same situation, that from 60-70 SOT I have had only 1 goal.
Later on everything became again normal ;)Edited: 20-04-2021 14:01

When I just started playing this, I was scoring 12-14 goals against youth teams regularly. But now, four months later, when my team is even better, I can hardly score 7-8 goals against a youth team. I wonder was something changed in the simulation?
Today's record, 2-0 against a youth team of mostly 16 and 17 year olds, with 30 shots, but my striker with 10 balls for shooting can't beat a 17-year old goalkeeper. Something's weird there.
Maybe because I've just bought a new player, but it would make sense if the new player performed poorly because he's new, but I can't imagine how a new defender who is sitting on the bench can affect strikers to miss shots.

It feels like the Play Intelligence weights more than I thought, especially in the context of a striker.
I just got one with almost the same skills as the former one but with better intelligence and I can definitely see a difference. The SOT - Goals ratio improved.
It also shows when watching the 2d/3d match. The striker no longer aligns with the opponent keeper before shooting. He actually dribbles him more often.

Yet ofc he will still need the speed for doing that, stamina to be able to do it all game long and maybe bonus tackling to regain the ball while advanced.

What does it all matter, his balls didn't decrease, and he is now performing worse than he did four months ago.
Anyways, 10 balls for shooting, 6 for play intelligence, 9 for speed, 7 for experience, and 9 for form, should be pretty good for a 24-yo striker against a 17-yo keeper.

I think your skills are alright, be patient ;)

Experience is very important I would compare it to PI if he is 24 i quess he has 7-8 exp.

I suppose it's Zlatan you're talking about. Maybe if you push him a bit center-forward while the other one on the side.
You're gonna figure it out eventually.
Cheers!

I actually think people underrate in general PI. PI is the most important trainable skill after the primaries for striker i would even say after 7 PI -> one ball PI feels like +3 balls in primary.
Noticed it when i was starting was confused how my 7 speed 6 shot 7 ball control striker scored more than my stirker with 8/9/9 no matter how i placed them. difference was 9 vs 6 PI. Also note that that SoT are only expression of how the tacticarchetypes work against -> playstyle some tend to generate a lot of shot but few goals vs other playstyles. Many shot are also more or less in a 1vs1 with the goal keeper or 1vs2 dribbling with SoT vs keeper and one defender.
@milsu the skill check keeping vs shooting isn t an isolated one. There are more skill checks and probably other variables calcutlated in.

Also if i look at your statistic for last 4 league matches you only have 20/12/16/14 shots on target so not even close to 20-30 average SoT. or are we talking about another league

Man, your statistics are wrong, lol, I don't know where you found them.
My last league match, only 5 SoT, but 3 goals, and I won 3-2 against a team with much better players than mine.

But last friendly against a youth team, 24 SoT and only 2 goals.

Makes no sense. I am aware that a result can vary, but this is kind of too much. So I wonder, did my team play worse because I bought a new player? I have decided to put him on the bench for 2-3 weeks, because I heard that new player brings worse play for some time, but it seems that he affects the team play anyways no matter if he's sitting on the bench and not playing.

I had a lot to benefit from immediately putting my recently bought striker (Ovidio Vellito) in the main squad.
Got him on the 18th of April and my Goals/SoT ratio improved substantially.
... and btw, he is the tip of the spear.
