Hi guys, bear with me as I'm new.
However the transfer market seems dead to me. When I say dead. I as a new member cant bring any domestic players in.
I believe the reason for this is people would rather release players due to salary because they know they can't make that money back on the market.
This has probably come about because 90% of members have been here for a great deal of time and have trained players worth 1m+.
Could I suggest that sacked players be placed as free on the market. The money raised can go to an imaginary charity fund or something.
Has anyone addressed this before?

Trust me, no one is sacking £1m players.
The players that get sacked are the ones you could not sell for £1 on the market. Believe me there is plenty of them. Cruel maxed speed or stamina players. I would bet that the players you have adopted are better than these former youths!

Starting a youth academy should be your first step and building from there. You don’t want any sacked players and having to pay their salaries either. Managerzone is a marathon not a sprint and not designed for managers to have instant success.
You’d be competitive in your domestic leagues with a team of youth if you maintain form and have longer term prospects rather that paying for a few stop gapsEdited: 10-12-2020 09:29

I've sacked most of my starting players.
I have 10 youths. I will up these to max when I next can.
I've learned I should have just got max in straight away.
But still viable players are being released by teams that could have a place elsewhere surely?

My general rule is if a player won’t fetch more than his weekly salary I discard him, no point selling him.
No point wasting a foreign player spot on a bad player even if you are new. In the smaller communities you really need to invest in quality foreign players and youth.Edited: 10-12-2020 12:28

No one is going to sack a player that has potential. Be it playable or sellable.
Those who are sacked are the ones that have been on the market for 3 days and never sold. The next step after that is to sack. Why would you pay £2k/£3k a week salary to a player who nobody wanted.
As a rule of thumb I 80% of the time put up my failed youths for £1. About 100% I don’t get a bid! So if managers are not going to invest £1 why would they want these released players for free?
Also it could be used to cheat! You and a mate could log in at 03:23am release a promising player in the assumption the mate is online and ready to snap up for free! Just a thought 😉

The released players would still have a time frame of 3 days etc.
I fear some managers are releasing perfectly viable players for the casual manager. Some of them players I could use for the next two seasons for instance.
I appreciate and respect the youth teams which is the route ill take of course. But in England no one is putting these players ok the market. They're releasing to never be seen again.
How about a free market for failed youths.

You should ask to restart and move your team to Scotland. I know 5 or 6 manager that would happily sell you failed youths 😂 including me!

Lol Brian.
I've got a 4 star HP player so don't want to restart right now. Wish I could enjoy the welcome deal however.

I've got plenty of young players without first team prospects as well Id be willing to sell you. Got a batch of youth who seem to all be maxing at 6 or 7 for speed and stamina. Ok at U18, rubbish after that.

I think its just the lack of them on the market.
The game is forcing all managers to go down the training route perhaps.
There has to be another viable option. Which in wis available If you have enough cash to keep buying the best in the game.

What kind of player are you envisioning ? Like what do you think the skills are of these players that are being released ?
I ask because you say you want them for the next two seasons. What difference do you expect them to make to your team over that time ? Lets say you buy 11 of these players, your team is best case scenario going to max out as slightly better than youth teams but worse than pretty much every senior team. There's just no benefit to that, even if you do win slightly more games, you aren't winning enough more games to make deep cup runs or promote faster.

I suppose my thinking was an experienced managers with millions in the bank would release a player they could make say 50k on. But said player has 7s and 8s in skills? Im purely basing this on zero players being on the domestic market if course

You can make money off the transfer market but you’d need to look at more mid range players with some potential and sell in a season or two to make money. Buying terrible players and making a little less bad won’t make any money nor help your team.

Well there goes my whole scheme - train players to a level of mediocrity and then sell for modest prices. ☺
