The forum is vast and I cant seem to find what I want so apologies if this has been posted a million times.

Would the below be the order of important for player skills?

Keeper
Keeping
Speed
Stam
Play int
Aerial passing

Defender
Tackling
Speed
Stamina
Heading
Passing

Midfield
Passing
Speed
Stamina
Shooting or tackling
Ball control

Striker
Shooting
Speed
Stamina
Ball control
Heading

Please correct me.

That would be a lot closer but some are subjective. Speed is more relevant in SP tactics and depending on formations but you can get away with it having less importance at times.

I appreciate this. Thank you.

However it seems a little odd that passing for a midfielder would be 5th priority?

It’s arguable whether it’s more important and others would think it is but depending on tactic and style of play (SP or wings) midfielders tackle more than central defenders so I rate tackling higher and ball control is essential.

Why speed isn't really important for you ?

It’s still in the top 5 for every position, it’s just not the be all and end all it’s made out to be, especially in this current simulator. With the dominance of wing play, speed is much less of a factor than in a SP favoured simulator. It’s a way to save millions on the transfer market too without sacrificing significant performance.

Don’t get me wrong if I had a choice for all my players to have high speed I would but besides defenders if you play majority wing play some 7 and majority 8 speed players in midfield and strikers will allow you to build a strong team for a lot cheaper

Very usefull thread, thx! However, how does stamina work. Someone on the norwegian thread has 1 ball in stam per min on the pitch as a rule of thumb. Thoughts? And what is the minimum amount of balls i skills important to each position would you settle for? Of course, the latter question depends on your current league. I mean, how low an amount of balls can you have before a player more or less becomes useless?

There are many topics about this discussion. As chucky06 mentioned, skills priorities depend on which tactic you are playing. Furthermore, maybe there is no absolute truth in those priorities? Best way of course is to test different tactics with different players against different opponents (I'm not an expert but i have learned some). In my opinion, such thing as a minimum amount of balls is very hard to tell because it depends on player's other skills. For example if a player has 6 in sp but has 10 in every other skill, it is hard to not play him in any tactic. Also, when the player has low balls in stamina (but otherwise high skills), You can still successfully use him as a substitute.

True. Yeah, I know it was a veeery open question :P Thx anyway. One more question though. Chucky mentions pass or longpass and heading or PI for mids and strikers, is that in relation to the common wing tactic and more narrow ones? I guess this question just as well could be inn a tactics thread, but when playing with a winger, is it important that all players have good LP?

All wing tactics your players need to have strong AP and BC to a degree. The majority of passes go in the air and then need to be controlled once receiving with your winger or both wingers with the highest AP (very basic break down)

How come PI is not that important on midfielders? Also, I read on an mz-app the other day that BC is not very important on defenders.. Is this true?

I’d definitely say player intelligence is important for midfielders. It would be next on the list or should even be somewhere there in the top 5. Any player who tackles PI is more important than other positions.

BC is definitely still important for defenders but if you need to sacrifice anything it would be BC and you can get away with it as long as the other skills are really good
