Test tactics issue

Badge image
I’ve always run short pass tactics with tight formations but as some of my players have developed I thought I’d try my hand at wings. I set up another tactic, using my same starting players, but with a wings formation, wings passing style and different substitution rules.

When I use the test tactics feature, however, both tactic A and tactic B end up using tactic A’s substitution rules. And the same player in both squads wins man of the match.

What’s happening? I can’t figure it out. It’s clear that my wings formation is playing my tight formation but things are getting crossed somewhere.

It’s tough to offer help with this as we can’t see your test tactic matches to see what’s going on.

You don’t have any alternative tactics in your rules that could be changing your formation and substitutes?

I’ll try to figure out how to post a picture here.

I went back and reviewed, both sides are making all the substitution orders from both tactics.

On A Good starts and Conley replaces him at 45 min no matter what.

On B Conley starts but Sousa replaces him at 45 if we’re losing or later if not. And Henderson replaces Hoff late in the game.

Looking at the match timeline, Conley replaces Good on both sides, then Sousa replaces Conley. And then later Henderson comes on for Hoff. On both sides!
