What a result!
Sometimes, a ManagerZone match will deliver excitement far beyond the norm. Such was the case in the match between Italy and England in the MZ World Cup 2020 a couple of days ago.
To set the stage, England needed all three points to enter the next round. They also needed front runners Poland to get at least one point against Hungary. But even then, they would need to rely on goal difference.
It started out well, with Iain Wagstaff notching to make it 1-0 for the Brits. Then it all went sour. Really sour. Hungary scored an early goal to take the lead in the other match. In the 53rd minute, England had a man sent off and, to make matters worse, Italy scored shortly thereafter. England were now in third spot, with an atrocious goal difference, a man sent off and only 20 minutes left on the clock. And playing against an Italian team fighting for survival.
It would take a miracle.
Enter Barry Hudson. He scored a shorthanded goal for England in the 74th minute and only five minutes later, substitute Allan Fitzgerald notched another against the run of play. 3-1 to England. They were able to hold on to their fragile lead all the way to the end, but it was still not enough because Poland were still 1-0 down against Hungary.
In the 95th minute, Waclaw Domaradzki scored to make it 1-1 and suddenly, amazingly, England were in 2nd spot with the tightest possible goal difference on their side.
This spelled heartbreak for both Hungary (4) and Italy (3). But what a comeback by the Brits. Hats off to the gentlemen from the island."

I hate Barrie Potter, he scored the winning goal against us on the 95th minute.

Never liked Barrie either since THAT performance for Gryffindor in the first film
