Number of divisions

Badge image
I checked the number of active teams in my country's leagues in the last season and I noticed that only the highest and the 1st division are active, whereas each league in the 2nd division has only around 2-3 active teams. Thus, I was wondering why are there still 4 divisions in my country, if even 2nd division could be regarded as inactive? And so I thought there could be an algorithm which would create an optimal number of divisions for a country each season based on the number of active users.

I think it could be preset when a new country is introduced how many leagues are added.

I don’t think it really matters though as it’s just inactive teams playing other inactive teams in lower league with no affect on anyone

Well, of course, that's not the most important issue, since, as you said, it has no effect on anything or anyone. Just that it might be much easier to find out and compare the situation of each country in terms of user activity if the number of divisions was relative to the number of active teams.

From what I could see in my country there are five divisions. I created my team at the beginning of February and started in the second division.

Best way is to look at participants from your country when MZ run any free cups. Also the national cup is a good guide but of course that only tells you how many managers from your country pay for the game.
