Not sure to be honest, most important skills for a GK are mostly keeping (obviously), Stamina and PI, then ball control / aerial passing but im not sure

You’d assume it would be both with his hands and feet

Re: Goalkeeper stats

You would think they would get rid of some attributes and add goal keeper specific ones. Like heading for handling etc

I made a proposal in the Dutch forum to split the goalkeeping skill in 2 separate skills. Handling & reflexes. Phasing out slowly the current skill.
Both skills should be equally important.
They should train faster than the current keeping skill, but slower than the regular ones.
Ideally to get both skills to 10 would take a bit longer. Now you have 10 ball goalkeepers from age 20 onward, which is not realistic and you hardly have to look for a compromise in any Uxx.
A 9/9 goalkeeper would obviously be very good, but it wouldn't take too long for 10/10 players to pop up.
I think the current goalkeeper aspect is too linear in managerzone, and the transfer market for keepers is also too boring.
With the current scout reports there will be plenty 10 ball goalkeepers from 3* HP, because they would be shit for any other position anyway.

You understand changing attributes and skills wouldn’t be possible without rebuilding the whole game and a completely different simulator?

Don't overestimate the sim's goalkeeping aspect.
And as Managerzone demands continuous payments, I would expect continuous improvement.

With age they mostly improve physically and mentally. along with the more experience.

I don't think that ball control is a goalie attribute as there are no goal keeper training camps that includes it. Only stamina, PI, speed and aerial pass is optional along with goalkeeping

Re: Goalkeeper stats

Usually i don't see goalkeepers with high ball control on transfer market

Re: Goalkeeper stats

Unless it's maxed on the other skills of course

Re: Goalkeeper stats

There should be more clarification with GK skills. For a paid game how goalies have attributes like heading and shooting is stupid. Tacking could mean like one on one skills?? Goalkeepers should have there own attributes

Re: Goalkeeper stats

If I'm not mistaken Ball Control used to be thought of as handling (Catching) for keepers. Whereas Keeping itself could be thought of as like reflexes.

If I were trying to redesign the skills heading would be renamed something more broad like Aerial Ability. Referring to players ability to control the ball in the air (So heading, volleys etc). Included in that would be the Keepers ability to intercept a cross (Something that never happens in the game).

You don't know if a youth will be a keeper or a striker. So you can't have specific skills

No but you could make other skills work differently for goalies. Ball control for sure could be a trait regarding grappling the ball or dropping it (if it isn't already) Pass could in some what be made useful. Someone wanted reflexes and speed can be just that (if it isn't already). What does speed do otherwise? The goalie hardly runs other than if he drops the ball, but is it for just that?
