Hi I play this game over 10 years now, achieved few successes, came to understand the tactics etc. But what bothers me is the current simulator which just annoys me so much. I always was a short pass specialist, I never liked the wing tactic at all. These days almost everyone play wings as it's more affective, you just score more goals by wing. Many times I have so many scoring chances when I block someones wing perfectly there is like 22-5 shoots for me but I can still lose or draw.
Why is this? Why is short passing creating so many chances but not scoring enough?
I don't like to complain but when I saw my todays result I just have enough of it, and unfortunately I will have to play wing now as everyone else...
My question is is there any point to play short passes still? Every 1 on 1 with the keeper it's like shooting from the half of the pitch, they just don't score.
My today's result, I played short passing.
Tha't only one example, I have much more examples like crazy loses or draws having x3 more shots etc. Years before when you outsmarted your rival with better tactic you had more shots usually win, now you can outsmart him, had more shots and still lose or draw.
Another example, very important match in our Polish League Clan competition based on fridays friendlies. I've done everything right here, blocked his wing, look at the scoring chances, and still only 1-1... don't have to mention the 22-5 shots on target :)
And no my strikers are not bad. In case someone thinks like this, they are actually great skilled players as strikers should be. 9 shooting, 9 play inteligence, 9 ball control, one has 10 inteligence :)

The same thing is happening to me, Ioplay short passing and I outshoot my opponents almost every game and still manage to draw of lose. It's infuriating because wing tactic is really boring to watch and play against.

Well, it's not a matter of playing wings or short passing, check this game I played a few days ago:

I played wings, my opponent probably played shorts passing, I had 30 shots vs 2 shots against and got a 1-1 tie. My strikers and wingers are all NT quality, sometimes you get results like this, it's part of the game and there's really no point in worrying about it.
I do believe you score more chances when you play wings than when you play short passing, because headers are harder to save for the keepers but then again, if you generate more chances playing a short passing tactic it evens out. I do play short passing occasionally and with the right tactic it could be quite effective.

My opinion is that heading for defenders is useless when they face aerial passes.

I know surprises can happen but in my case they happen once a day and my friends too. Not fair to have way better players have x3 more chances and lose, it's just not fair. As some managers log once a week play 1 tactic for life have way more shoots and still can win. But I guess I'm not alone :)
About heading for defenders it is usuless actually, they almost never win the header against the striker. I tink in my opinion play inteligence matters. So you need at least 9 inteligence for the middle defender against wings.

Outside the minor efficiency of short pass attack, you should replace the strikers in the second half to improve their effectiveness. Its a key factor.
