What is the point of the ranking system?!

I realise the ranking system has never been an accurate way to judge how good a team is, but I didn't realise just how inaccurate it is - apparently I have the 8th best team in all of MZ!!! LOL I do know that it takes into consideration your Uxx results as well, but none of my teams are really excelling at any age level! Why do we have it? what purpose does it serve? If it is this inaccurate do we need it? Can only agree that the rank system would need an overhaul. It's something that was once a good portrayal of a managers' skills, I think, but as we have updated the game it has become more and more inaccurate. It hasn't happened at a specific time, more as a slow process over many years, which is probably why we've never prioritized it. Maybe a ranking similar to ATP system will be good, with points earned in official competitions, that you must renew the next season competition. And a cup for best 32/64 teams of every season. Also it could be separated between senior and Uxx categories.

nice idea U could also have a system considering the last three seasons with for exemple 50% for the season N-1, 30 for N-2, 20 for N-3 ...

It really should weigh competitions totally different to how it does now. Official Cups and W/L should have the most weight and winning matches in the top W/L should count for a lot more than in division 2. Currently domestic league matches have a lot of weight. A complete overhaul would be great but as it doesn’t effect anything or determine seeding into cups or anything like that currently I don’t feel like it’s a priority to fix eitherIt really should weigh competitions totally different to how it does now. As national rankings are comprised by teams rankings from those countries, fixing one would in turn fix the other

For National Countries, does the number of teams have also an influence on the number of points of those countries?
