I have 1 foreign player in my team. I want to buy a 2nd, will I have to pay for a work permit or is this not until my 4th foreign player purchase/foreign player bid.

Many thanks in advance

You should not have to buy a work permit till your 4th foreign player.

Best way to check is pretend do buy a foreign player and after you press bid it will show if you need a work permit or not

Hi Chris :)

Firstly, you can find the manual with the following steps :

Help -> Manual

Now, coming to your next question - From what I can see, your country falls under Region B in the Transfer Region. So, you are permitted 3 foreign players, and 4 additional players on Work Permit basis.

To answer it straight and simply, you will not have to buy any player on Work Permit basis unless you don't fill up your 3 foreign players first (currently 2, since you already have 1).

But, there's a slight complexity here - You CAN still get a player on work permit, while only having 1 foreigner. Here's how :

Say you already have a foreign player, so you can buy 2 more before you'll have to buy on permit. But, even if you just make 2 (random) bids on any 2 foreign players, and then make another bid on another foreign player (while there have been NO RE-BIDS on the previous 2 players you bid for), that bid will be counted as a Work Permit bid.

I usually do this when I want to specifically buy a player on Work Permit. I generally buy high salary players on 'normal' basis, and buy only low salary (but not necessarily low skilled) on Work Permit basis. This is because, the Work Permit is only decided based on the salary of the player at the time of the transfer. Even if he goes on to become the highest-salaried player in the future, that will make no difference to the Work Permit you had to pay for him.

So, what i do is -

Say I am in your situation. I have only 1 foreign player, but I want another foreign player on Work Permit basis, without having to buy 2 other foreign players. The player I want to buy with a Work Permit is X.

What I'll do is :

Make either 2 'useless' bids on 2 players. Here, 'useless' means bidding on a player on which there are surely gonna be re-bids. So, once I make 2 bids on 2 random players, and then if I try to make a bid on player X, then the bid on player X will be a 'Work Permit included' bid. But, like I said, you should make sure that no one else has re-bid on those 2 players. If they have, you again re-bid, and quickly make a bid on X.

Hope you got the answers to your questions, as well as the additional info :)

Thanks for your help both of you. I can't believe I didn't check there I am ashamed! For some reason I was looking among the community forums... Anyway. So I only have one further question, is there a benefit to having a work permit on a player?

Non whatsoever, just frees up another slot for another foreign player.
