Friendlies tactic issue

Hello. I've re-joined the game a couple of days ago and had my first set of friendlies today. However the team that played the friendlies was a team that I have saved nowhere (assume it's the default team for newcomers/returnees in 4-4-2 formation) so it was a bit annoying when I realized that the team I have in my only tactic wasn't even playing and that instead I had my goalkeeper playing upfront, benched guys on the 11, etc. I wonder why this is happening, and most importantly, how can I fix it? All other types of matches I've played since joining went without trouble. A tactic played. Play-off matches, friendly leagues, so on. Everything but the friendlies. The A tactic is chosen as the tactic for friendlies (and all matches, by default, I have not made any change ever), however I noticed when the matches are about to start and "lock" when it comes to friendlies this horizontal line appears (------) instead of the A from A tactic as for other matches. Firstly, welcome back 🙌🏻😊 Secondly, your default tactic (“A”) is really bad. It’s neither a wing tactic nor a SP tactic so I’d take a look at some of the tactics some decent sides are using and try to replicate them or test out a few tactics in friendlies and find out what works for your team. To answer your question though, I’m not sure how long you’ve been out of the game for but when sending friendlies out now you have the option to choose the tactic for the matches then and there. You no longer have to select tactics after the friendliest are locked in. This is maybe where you’ve gone wrong and haven’t selected the correct tactic? The only other thing I can think of is you’ve potentially changed the game of actual tactic “A” slot to something else and when you select Tactic “A” it’s saved as that default (puts players where ever 4-4-2 tactic) I hope that might help a littleFirstly, welcome back 🙌🏻😊

To answer your question though, I’m not sure how long you’ve been out of the game for but when sending friendlies out now you have the option to choose the tactic for the matches then and there. Thank you for the welcome and for your response. Maybe my current tactic is not so bad if taking into consideration the division I'll be playing in, mostly against other bots and such. But I'll have a look at other tactics, thanks (what do you mean by SP tactic btw?). I first joined the game in the early 2000's...possibly 2003-2005, something like that if the game was already around then? My memory is a bit clouded in this regard. But I played for many years straight then. I made a comeback at last during last year but was unable to continue for long because I found the game to be too time consuming. Last time I was around here last year things were more or less the same. I had no issue then as far as I can remember. I accepted my friendlies in the "quick challenge section". As I wrote I have touched nothing but I'll have a closer look at things. Thanks for trying to figure out what might have gone wrong. I'll report back if I can't fix it on my own. By “SP” I’m refers to short passing. Your defenders and midfield are really wide. Anyone with a decent team who plays a short passing tactic will dominate you in the middle of the park. The wide back four is fine against wing tactics but in your low division at the moment not many sides will play wings so you’d maybe benefit from a back three and compressing your midfield a lot tighter. Check out some of the National Team tactics from the recent WCBy “SP” I’m refers to short passing. Your defenders and midfield are really wide. Cheers, I'll have a look at some other other tactics. Meanwhile I had a friendly this morning and A tactic was on without a problem now. So I guess it'll be good from here on out.
