Hi Guys,
Im fairly new to this game and have seen really good 19-21 year olds on transfer market.
Is it worth hiring the 4-5 star coaches with high salaries? i dont get much of an income and have no players to sell that will see me with any in the foreseeable future. I was just wondering your thoughts and how you portray or experienced better coaches than others.
thanks

Personally... a waste of money. Spend your money on training camps

For training youth I'd go with 2 or 3 star coaches. Don't really need 5 star unless you've more money than you know what to do with and are training some 9 ball superstars on their way to there 10th. Even then you can get away with 4 stars. Be sure to check a few coaches before you make an offer - the prices can vary quite a bit.

Coaches play a major role in player development, especially in early stages. The effect of the coaches are around 20-35 % according to my personal database. Now let's see what that means.
Let's say that a youth comes to you with 15 balls at age 16. This player will have around 45 balls at age 21 with coaches. Without coaches, that would be around 35-38 balls.
Also, the coach prices are really cheap except B and A class coaches. Again, according to my own personal database, Difference between a 10 ball coach and 6-7 ball coach is not huge. However the difference between a 6-7 ball coach and No coach is the 20-30% which I stated above. So I keep 6 ball coaches except important roles like stamina and keeping where I use 9 ball coaches.

I spend quite a lot with coaches as well.
Depends on your strategy, if you buy lots of young players to develop and try to develop your youth after they become professionals, I believe they are worth it.
I also have cheaper coaches to train the youth, as a class D and sometimes class C coaches are extremely cheap, I believe it is worth it as well.

First of all you are more experienced than me, so I won't criticize your choice. Anyway I think "Class A" coaches are a bit overkill. The difference they make compared to B coaches (with 9 balls) is insignificant when you look at their wages. Personally i stick to B coaches with 9 balls. This theory was presented by hanzinho and backed with empirical research.

Same here, i always go for the Niners. You should take a look at some of their wages...they're dirt-cheap ;)

I don't think that i'm more experienced than you...
Anyway one of out nerd italian managers calculated that there is a difference of 2@ every 4/5 seasons, something like that, between 9@ coaches and 10@.
I've started with 9@ coaches and when my finances became good enough i've switched to 10@ coaches. I've noticed also that they are Very good with deteriorating players, they started to train at 3 whereas before they were training at 1 or 2, but maybe i"m wrong

I have coaches for most of my skills, youth and senior teams. I think it depends on the players you are training, some train fast others should just quit.
