Youth GK Training Advice

Badge image
So I just got this new 16 year old youth that already has 4 balls in GK, so I put him on the field with a 10 ball GK coach to train more in GK and get it maxed asap. But even tho my coach has 10 in GK training, the youth still barely does any progress at all, on the training graph it shows less than half on improvement.

So my question is, should I even bother training this kid or should I just exchange him? Or will it turn around at some point?

Its normal that they train GK that slow.

normal range for youth to train GK is around 3-5/10.

Make sure you sent him to a full 5 week Youth Training Camp for Keeping each season and that’s where he will make his biggest increases.

GK training is always more difficult

When player has some skills maxed, sometimes it is worth the risk to use the packages which includes maxed skills.

Example: player has stamina maxed, there will be package for stamina and goalkeeping - then if you pick that package, player won't train 50-50 goalkeeping and stamina (maxed), he will train 100% goalkeeping (skips stamina).

The risk is when goalkeeping gets maxed there, too; manager has to cancel the camp; player should continue the development on training field.

Not a big issue for the GKs,as most of them maxed below 10 are going to the trash can.

Generally if the youth prospect is lower than 3-4 balls in keeping is it not worth training him,as he is well behind 1-2 season in keeping training, compared to the youths started at 3-4.
Yep you can get 10 balls GK,but he will kinda old.
