Missing Power Soccer
By nebblemann - 03-11-2018 04:15
I completely loved this game. Think manager zone is great to and very happy to see that it has not also left us. As they seem to have made the software compatible with MAC/PC maybe that would attract more the to fanbase. I always felt the lack of player base was maybe down to the game not being pushed enough on social media platforms (e.g. youtube). Would love to hear your thoughts on this though? X

The main reason is that NPAPI plugins were phased out in every major browser, which means that the Crew would have to spend time and money in converting it to some other format, which is a complicated task and is almost certainly not gonna pay off.
I love PS as much as you do and enjoyed it a lot, but it's better not to get false expectations.
Well all I'm saying is the potential is there and therefore I believe it is worth the investment of time which should be paid by the users and I think now more than ever people will do such a thing. I don't have an expectation for it to come back but I'm just proposing.

ye this game is tuff. Power soccer was nice and simple and maybe that's why it was so appealing to simple minded people like me

I still have a question... I was wondering Who was that italian guy genoa1583 or something like that, this guy was used to only play ranked matches, I never saw him in a cup, or a chat.

Heya all ex-PS players!
I really miss PS.
I wish I could turn back time and re-live all amazing moments I had there.
Has anybody found any similar game?

Power Soccer has good potential in today's current market. It's just sad to see the crew don't view it in the same way. F2P games like Fortnite, Valorant, etc show that a F2P system with in-game purchase upgrades is feasible. It seems however PS don't think they can do it though I disagree. A F2P Power Soccer with in-game upgrades (CM) can work especially since Football is by far the world's biggest sport. They have people join esp since games like these are now most popular.

Yes, I Used to play this game from 2008 to much later, somehow power soccer managed to build memories for us. community, chat room, forums, gameplay chat. everything was so good. I wonder why don't they make an iOS and Android game now? These platforms will definitely give good feedback, once the game is developed we can definitely work together to volunteer publicise it by sharing through social media and youtube gameplay videos. but only crew members can tell what are the possible challenges and then we can see if it is something the community can sort out.

The problem with PS is, it was never profitable in the short term and long run. So, why need to use almost all the resources to "resurrect" an old and outdated game? The current size of Crew also only consists of a small team, so they cannot risk something like that, especially in view of the current Covid-19 situation that affects everything economically.
So, whether we like it or not, we need to accept the fact that PS is never coming back. Not now and ever.

But that was simply not the case. At it's peak the game made close to $8M. That's huge revenue for a f2p play game in its inception. They had advertisers like McDonald's and NIVEA and had ads on huge networks like FoxSports. The game was making money. In late 2009/2010, an investment company took over both MZ and PS and the original crew took over a server company. The lack of passion and mismanagement particularly went they put limits on playing official matches during that time, alienated much of the userbase making the game that once used to have 10,000 active users or even more at one period in a day to just 300 towards its closing. This is the info I gathered from speaking with a former crew member.
Again, I'm not complaining about the death of the game. It's gone and there's seems to be no motivation to bring it back but to say the company tried it's best is a falsehood. They didn't. They had a huge opportunity especially since FIFA users are starting to get sick of the game. A f2p option for football lovers would have made money but the company that took over didn't believe in that model until it was too late. The model has worked for massive games like Valorant, Fortnite, etc.. If the game was still around, it would've been a clear market alternative, especially since its very accessible and paying options to boost teams could've been included to help generate profit.

There is no way PS made $8M in a year in revenue. Perhaps over the entire lifetime of the game or you (or they) actually meant that was their total assets.

I remember velenos2487 (Not sure about the numbers) but I doubt that's who you're thinking of.
