Sending off, s

I have played this game for years, but one thing I have never understood is, sending offs, what happens after a dismissal? I have lost loads of games after my opposition have had a player sent off they seem to get stronger, as I have always read it if you get a player sent off the whole team move down to the position of the player who was dismissed, can anyone clear this up for me, but please make it simple as I'm struggling to understand it,, thank you.I have played this game for years, but one thing I have never understood is, sending offs, what happens after a dismissal? Striker with lowest shirt number will move down to replace red carded player. And it is one of the tweaks of the sim sometimes - opposition tactics "shifts in to place" if they are one man down! Simple explanation why it(red carded team plays better with man down) happens is that player who passes the ball to striker have one option less to pass to therefore opposition may play better. But if opponent have good counter tactics than red carded team may suffer heavily from it!
