The cost of power tokens has gone up

Badge image
We now have to pay £4.99 for 25 tokens an 80p rise. Is this down to Brexit?

of course, there are duties to pay now to import power tokens into UK. Plus delays at the border that drives the cost up. Also the materials from which a power token is made of, got more expensive.

You got what you voted for. Unless you didn't vote for it, and then you got what you didn't vote for.

I think it's more down to inflation but then again, I like Aemi's trolling so let's leave it at Brexit.

Well it is partially due to brexit, the pound lost about 20% value against the Euro since the vote to leave Europe and I don't think MZ ever adjusted the prices to reflect this.

Re: The cost of power tokens has gone up

Far too expensive. Could be half the price and still make good profit

Re: The cost of power tokens has gone up

You are finally more expensive than Australia, Congratulations :)

I think it's a little bit more expensive for us too, than it used to be... I am not entirely sure.

What bugs me though, there was no announcement prior, hey guys from Sept 1 or whatever, due to Brexit and other unknown reasons, we are planning to increase the cost of power tokens as follows:

1) Brits the most expensive
2) Aussies a close second
3) Let's piss of the Turkish ppl
4) everyone else
5) Canada gets a discount, cause they awesome..

Like couldn't they just post two lines of something?

1) Canada
2) USA

.
99) Argentina (only pay 1.69 USD for 25 PT)

and still cry and complain in the latin forum about it, by far the country that less pays for the same 25 PT that all other users in the world. if this isn't disadvantage what?

in spain 25 power tokens = 5.15 EUR

I don't get this AT ALL! How is it possible that prices for PTs are different in countries having the same currency - e.g. EU? It's silly!

For Romania the price is 3.99 euro / 25 PT.

Re: The cost of power tokens has gone up

4.99EUR/25PT

I'm no economics expert but,
maybe PTs have different cost in countries that use the same currency because they are "country bound"(the PTs) and their cost is derived from the average income of that country and not the purchasing power of the currency?

Is this some sort of socialism? :P

Its Sweden after all. They take 50+ percent of your income. And then they take the rest. How do you think such a tiny little small province sized country can finance Ikea, Volvo and MZ at the same time.

Long live the revolution.

I thought under EU law all EU members had to pay the same price for purchases. Am I right?

Nop, doesn't work like that unfortunately, an example would be netflix, costs about 9.99 pounds in UK and the same service is about 17 euros in Spain.

Then what’s the point of the EU?

May I remind you about something called Brexit? I think that covers it...

But anyway, I checked several multinational services in the EU and indeed, prices are adapted to local markets, since countries have different economic power.

"free" movement/transportation/interaction of people/goods/ideas/culture in the EU zone

EU gives you the ground rules, then each country decides on its own how to implement them(or not in some cases)

THere's no "Economic Union" yet, so it's every man for himself atm

Hi, that was me.

If we do MZexit we'll probably end up paying even more for power tokens somehow.

I know, thats the sad part. The worse, some other things might get more expensive. At least, you get part of your freedom back...

Anyways, you seem new on the forums, so dont put anything I say to heart, I am all about having fun at everyone's expense. I dont mean anything beyond that.
