... considering that inteligence trains a lot slower for youths (more than the reduced training rythm it already has, compared to other skills)? It seems a nonsense...
PS:
I know intel is an indicator, in YTC, of the position (midfield) yet I see intel in a lot of YTCs for strikers and defenders as well. And really, that is a real waste of YTC time!!!

Alde,
Some time ago it was said by Crew that they reduced training efficiency in youths for PI. Ok, I get it, it probably has to do with making youths less competitive as to senior players.
However, YTC packages have not been adapted as to make this decision rational in the bigger picture of the game - many YTC packages still contain PI and this seems like a disadvantage for training youths.
PS: This topic has nothing to do with whether or not YTC is good or what it represents. I'm talnk here only about the skills combination randomly generated by it and the fact that it's nonsensical to have that puch PI since Crew decided to change its training speed. I'm talking here about decisions implemented poorly...

Agreed
But the only alternative would be to remove completely P.Intel as a probability, because (I'm guessing) the way it works is something like this:
i) generate (youth) player
ii) pick 3 skills (YTC/scout)
iii) implement P.Intel training penalty until player's age <21 (or is it 23?)
some would still argue that they would like to have a go at P.Intel training even if there's a penalty in training efficiency
the only way to bypass this problem is to just exchange that 16yo youth and go for the scout report for the new exchanged one
but that could also mean, sacrificing that 16yo that arrived with 18@s in total and has 4@ in two main skills :P
of course you can always go blind and train him without having any knowledge of his 3 potential skills
If I had any "faith" left in youth players' "holy trinity", I would have been frustrated too. But I have reformed to the "speed/stamina/control" faith too many seasons ago :P

My friend, I am also of the same opinion on training youths - speed, stamina and ball control ensure you have a clear idea very soon if he is to be a player or a discard. It only works, however, for players you want to keep or make a fortune of and not if you train to sell.
My point with this topic is somewhat different: I could agree, for a first YTC, to have PI - the system needs to be able to thus show position. Nevertheless, the 2nd YTC and 3rd YTC tend to give the same skills and then PI becomes a disadvantage.
I know you can always send youths to regular TCs but there are many weeks when regular packages are crap or unfitted and then YTC could be a solution. If only it didn't give out PI so darn often... because YTC packages were created long before the new rule of reduced PI training in youths.

Train kangaroos instead. They have no intel.

Solution: 5 PT per TC exchange. (first 2 for free if CM).
Problem solved. More money into the game. Everybody happy, except aemi's kangaroos.
