Skills for positions

Being new to the game, I'm trying to collaborate information from various topics.

I was just wondering what the primary and secondary skills are for each position.

Thanks

All positions need speed and stamina
Secondary skill for all field positions is Ball Control
Primary skill :
Defender : Tackling
Midfielder :Passing
Winger : Aerial Passing
Striker : Shooting
After these 4 skills for each position, play intelligence is a must.

Of course, this is just my opinion.

I agree

I'd add that midfielders need a.passing instead of passing and strikers need heading if team plays wings!

Keep in mind that play int. is important but it trains slower with youths!

And basically thats enough you need to know to start.

Aside from tackling being the main skill, does ball control affect a players ability to successfully win tackles? Or would that be PI?

Appreciate all the feedback guys. It definitely gives me a good platform to launch my training from.

And I guess when you say trains slower with youths, you literally mean the youth squad, not younger seniors train slower than older seniors (play a few management games, and in one of these, this is the case for a skill).

The youths are the players with no salary.
Play Intelligence will train slower then other skills, but the more experience a player gets, the faster PI will train.
That doesn't mean a 10 XP player will train PI faster then passing :D

Basically if your players have high tackling they should be defenders. High shooting strikers and good passing midfielders. That’s very basic though.

Like mentioned above there’s other skills needed for positions too and a lot of them overlap

Didnt wanna start a new topic for this question, so found this thread a propper one for it.

Crossballs for keepers...? Thumbs up or down? Have a very promising keeper of 20 that sadly got a 6th red ball i cb the other day.

Aerial Passing Is the fourth most important skill for keepers behind keeping, stamina and player intelligence.
