U18 National Teams?

Badge image
Not sure if anyone has put this question across but...

As many managers emphasise on having a great Youth Academy set in place, being aggressive in exchange the maxed players for the unmaxed youth players that come along and playing in as many U18 Cup competition to give the youth experience and to see how your team matches up versus other U18 squads.

Maybe incorporating a U18 national team would allow managers to see how their players face up against the best U18 in the country and world.

I think it'll add more excitement to the ManagerZone world as they not only prepare to get their Youth Academy players to the U21 and National squad but they also look to get them into the U18 National squad before they've even signed their first contract with the club.

I'd love to know what everyone thinks and if this is viable or if it's just hot air talk.

Oh and do hit me up on my message board, I feel like it's a ghost town in ManagerZone, need some interaction! LOL

What will happen to the u18 national roster when an u18 national player gets digitaly wiped out because his owner decided to exchange him for another one?

Also, at least from my experience, u18 players are too under developed to leave room for decisive tactical decisions, thus leaving the RNG effect to rule supreme.

It's a nice thought but I can't see a good way to get implemented, the way academies/SIM work in MZ

Just my thoughts

U18 national squads has been done before but was a long time ago.

I'm sure there was an U18 World Cup before as I do remember a few 18 year old players being selected at the time.

Guess it's up to the NC to keep a check on the squad. Although if you have an u18 national player in your squad, you'd want to keep him and then flog him on the TM.

If the player was in squad list, than the player will stay in national team! Alto he wont train anymore!

Personally I think it would be cool to have U18 national team. But only if senior and U21 coach is separated from U18 NT coach!

Ok, what about U19 National Squads?

So the ones that graduate have a 1 year from 18-19 in a national squad.

That means that if they are elected when they're 18 they can play again when they're 19 the next season.

That'd be good. I think?

I like the idea of an U18 National Team but I can see a few potential problems with it's implementation.

* At the age of 18 or under, lot's of players have very similar skills. Determining which player is better and deserves their position in the national would be very hard.

*Youth players are consistently being sent to Training Camps and can gain sometimes up to 7 balls in one Camp. That's a huge swing when we are talking about players with 35 total skill balls. A player returning from camp might have not even made the U18 squad or been on the radar and then when returning could be a starter. This would happen frequently and require nearly daily shuffling of the squad.

* The more National Team players there are and players accredited with "National Team Player" will only add to the inflating transfer market.

* Adding more National Teams would possible mean they would need to be stand alone positions E.g. Senior National Coach, U21 National Coach and National U18 Coach etc. One person managing them all would be a big work load. Then they could be more specialist positions too.
