are long ball tactics effective?

When i try long ball and wings tactics they always seem worse then my usual short ball formation. But i notice a lot of teams seem to set up with long ball or wings / or am i making a wrong assumption?When i try long ball and wings tactics they always seem worse then my usual short ball formation. to begin with, long balls and wings are [b]NOT[/b] the same ! :P wings is the more effective one vis-a-vis the current SIM, but there are pretty good short passing tactics too. as for long passing, i doubt even the lousiest of managers here play it :P it's just a namesake thing lol. either set up a wing passing or a short passing team. long passing doesn't really work at all in the current SIM. hope that helps :)to begin with, long balls and wings are NOT the same ! :P
