PS:
The problem of adding/contracting countries has been debated a few times, over the past 10 years, Japan being one of the main countries suggested to be added. If I well remember, Cattleyard (back in the days) said it's difficult to add countries (for whatever reason) and they don't think the userbase justifies such an effort.

If you ask me, what needs to be done is, following the model of World Leagues, is contracting countries to regions, as many (small) countries have actually non-existent competitions.

MZ Country already somewhat fits to that idea. I don't think small countries need to have any more restrictions due to their size. Yes, the competition is scarce and a paying user is likely to dominate. But a paying user from a mini user base isn't just looking to win the local Top Series. As they are taking part in Cups against everybody else, they are looking to win international titles. The current work permit rules allow all teams to be competitive at the top level of any age group. Another point is that a new user would rather join his homeland than the wilderness that is MZ Country (I hear it's cold near Antarctica).

I'd prefer seeing countries with no Head Coach be disqualified from National Team competitions. They are just fodder - I've even seen walkovers at that level. Currently there are 24 countries without a leader. This would leave 76 active National Teams to compete at the 3 different events for both age groups.

The Assistant Federation released a poll 2 days ago. The question is if MZ should advertise during the World Cup (which they obviously should). Out of the 5 options, 4 are relating to how MZ should advertise. As it stands the most popular choice has been "first make the SIM better" having received 30% of the votes. The fifth option is the only one that still has not received a single vote out of the 57 votes cast - "not needed, MZ has enough players". From that statistical anomaly it is quite clear what the sentiment amongst managers is. The SIM debate will be ongoing until the end. Don't let it stop the game from evolving. MZ has been around for a long time and still has a lot of core users who have not left even after a lot of changes. This opportunity would be a good way to help fresh faces find this game.

One last point to stitch it all together. A dying game is a game that shows no progress nor improvements, becomes stale, and doesn't strive to evolve. I'd like Crew to set out their goals, one of which being the addition of a new country - Japan.

I've never understood why Liechtenstein and Kyrgyzstan were added as their own country but Japan and New Zealand weren't. Also a couple other strange omissions (Kyrgyz and Kazak but no Uzbekistan or Tajiki/Turkmeni; Trinidad but no Jamaica; Georgia and Azerbaijan but no Armenia). I don't think the game will change from the even number of 100 countries they have now, but I would like to know how and why the crew from a dozen years ago decided to expand where they did

I am curious how many new accounts were created in the last 12 months and how many of them are active (logged in the last month).

There's like 2 New Zealanders

Stop adding countries, start combining countries. I wouldn't mind if Canada USA and Aus combined

My team was originally created in Malta as I lived there for 5 years. I enjoyed playing in a small league as it has its charm as well. Every young player you produce which gets into your first team felt like a 100x better achievement than if I do it in a bigger country (Spain) and you ended up bonding with the local users even if we were perhaps 5-10 active at most. The big community is not as "close", but is for sure more competitive, which is also fun.

I will however always advocate that each nation should be separate and avoid further "MZ countries". No offence to that idea, MZ Country is great, but after some time I wonder:

1. Why not assessing MZ country, see where the users are from. If more than i.e Kyrgyzstan or Liechtenstein, it obviously justifies having an additional nation.

Small nation or not, the little national pride to build your community with players and bond with users is quite unbeatable for me personally, who have experienced both small (Malta) and now bigger nation (Spain). Even if there are just 2-3 users, eventually one will get stuck, and add friends in, and it will not take too long until it is better populated than the current minor countries.

so true !

nothing can beat the pride u have in playing under the flag of your own country, and managing your own country in NT games. i really pity the MZ managers who can't even have the 'privilege' of getting to manage their 'own' countries in NT competitions.
