MzManager error

Badge image
My mzmanager programme won't open and I get the following error message:
"Fatal Data Error! The current football database file is corrupt. Do you want to try to restore from backup file?(If you say yes, mz manager will try to restore each backup file until it find on that works)"

After I press "yes" I get the next message: "Restore of backupfile #2 was unsuccessful! Will try to restore from the next backupfile when you press the button"

Does anyone have the same problem and knows how to solve it?

I found an old forum post that solved the problem for me:

"Step 1. delete "mzmanager_football.dat", "mzmanager_football.not", "mzmanager_system.dat"
Step 2. rename "mzmanager_football.dat2" -> "mzmanager_football.dat",
rename "mzmanager_football.not2" -> "mzmanager_football.not",
rename "mzmanager_system.dat2" -> "mzmanager_system.dat"
Step 3. try to start mzmanager. if problem appears again then do step 1 and step 2, but change number 2 in files extension to number 3. then do step 3."

By the way, is there anybody else out there still using mzmanager?

i still keep using it! Very good to keep tabs on player stats and etc.

I stopped using it a zillion years ago. It was a great tool back in the day, but every now and then you lose all the data and have to start from scratch again. Atleast that was the case for me. Especially useful for keeping track of training before training graphs.

I am surprised it still is operational. Perhaps I will give it another go, for some nostalgia if nothing else :)

Yeah it used to be good for keeping tabs on players training but I haven't used it in years.

I mostly use it for statistical purposes. I basically have the list of my all time best scorers and players with most games played since 2004.

It was good for 1. training stats and 2. match stats. 1 we have in MZ, now, while for 2 an experienced manager doesn't need a zillion games to figure stuff out. Plus you lose the data periodically, plus compatibility issues...

Let me know, Hanz, if it's still worth it and I might give it a shot, also! ;)
