PI in YTC...is it fair?

Badge image
Back when the 2.0 Training was implemented, the rate of training for PI was reduced for youth. So...is it fair to have so many YTCs with PI as one of the skills? Seems kind of detrimental to the purpose of training of youth to determine any early maxings as early as possible.

I was taught that I should train play int. on training field.

basics was that 10 training days(2 weeks) on training field with a 9-ball coach is more efficient than 10 days of play int. training in TC

And if you didn't understand than all skills in 5-week TC are trained 10 days!

I understood...that's the point. A wasted 10 days in YTC.

There was a statement made in the news regarding the release of the Training 2.0 back in 2013, or one of the following updates...that training for PI will be reversed so it will take longer (or be slower) as youth and progressively increase as the player gets older up to some age...I think 20 to 23, or there abouts.

I am searching for the confirmation of this info in the admin threads because the change log doesn't give enough detail of the news releases.

Just because YTC is there, it doesn't mean you have to use it, right ? :D

it doesnt have to come from anywhere lol. if you monitor your youth's TC reports, you'll see they train pretty slowly in PI (4 out of 5 will train average..u might get just lucky with 1 who will train above avg..but still lesser than a skill like speed/stamina/shooting etc).

in fact, after their 20-21s, players train pretty fast in PI. in fact, one of my players, a 24 yr old, still trains at 6/10 'rate' (dark green) in PI :p :O

True...but many managers use the YTC consistently to determine the youths best position on the field.H

This is the statement from Crew from back in 2013 regarding the PI training.

De wholle (Crew)
«As you know training today, Players have the best training progression as Youths. As they get older the progression is decreasing. For Play Intelligence in Training 2.0 it will work the other way around, meaning as the Player get older the training progression in Play Intelligence increase.»

I'm probably the last person to ask, since my youths tend to max before 8!

Crew, if you are reading this can you check if there is bug related to my youth academy cuz I cannot get my own youth academy players above 8 - nearly 99,99 percent of the time?! :D

But easier is to answer a question how many youths have gone over 8? Answer is two - Babe Babel 9-keeper and Ain Uibo who had 2 skills over 8! :P....;(

And acutally three I think

This one is also my own academy product but sold him..:P

Only once per player in their first season. I use normal TC's from then on

Me too...but lately half,or more, of the first timers get PI as a skill in their YTC...is that really an indicator of position since all positions require PI...and such a slow one to train.

From my experience, getting PI in YTC points to strong possibility that player can be best used as midfielder. Not working all the time though, cause TC is not accurate in getting those predictions. But I there is always at least one skill of those four - Shooting,Keeping, Tackling a Play Intelligence - which is present. The rest just randomly add skills where player will max no sooner than at 6 balls. At least this is how I imagine how YTC works.

That's probably because play int. is only skill that can appear in all position packages.
